Sorry for the delay Panky. These are the links to pics of how i have mounted tweeters in my car.

The best place to mount the tweeters will be in straight line to your ears while seated.. If you dont wanna cut door panels, then the double tape would be your only option..

Mounting them elsewhere, you may not enjoy the experience to the optimum..

And it may sound thrashy!!

I am posting my problem to this thread as I am using the same product.
My left tweeter is not working suddenly. I removed and tried to connect to the other Component also. Still does not work. How can I check ? If it is possible to get only the tweeter. What will be the approx cost :)

A pair of JBL tweeters as supplied with 607C would cost approx Rs. 1700.

To check the tweeter put a small multimeter acorss the terminals and see if you get an impedance around 3ohms. BTW how did the tweeter blow? I have used tweters with modified XOs (my modifiations oftne reduce the ammount of protection offered to teh tweeter by the XO) and still not blown a tweeter (unless the amp had a DC offset issue).

Let me check today. I have multimeter. But is this possibility that the XO has some problem. The tweeter was working fine before. Any method to check the XO out put for Tweeter ?

yes if you got a signal generator and a scope?

Thanks for your reply. I have only Multimeter at my home. Using that can I check the output ?
If the XO has some problem is that a repairable ? Will the AUDIO shop will be able to figure it out the problem. My all Speaker and XO is fixed to the door so it will be very difficult to remove the panel and redo every thing. And this set of of Speaker does not have any AMP connection too.
I have AMP only to run the SUB and rear Speaker.

I cannot judge the competence or capablities of your repair shop but yes this problem can be quite easily repaired. Why not go to a JBL Authorised repair shop in your neighbourhood.

Arin, just use the meter in continuity mode to check that there is nothing open in the circuit between the input of the crossover and the tweeter output terminals for both positive and negative lines.

B&T this is a tweeter XO we are talking about. At DC the series cap will be an open circuit. You need to use HF (1kHz+) to see anything at the other end dont you.

If you have removed only the tweeter and checked it by connecting it to the other crossover then clearly your tweeter is blown.

As Panky mentioned, it is not sold as a spare. You'll have to buy a pair of tweeters from the 8 series as the 7 series is discontinued. Ask around for a second-hand JBL tweeter at various car accessory shops, you might get lucky.

I checked the tweeter, it does not show any change in the meter. So looks like the tweeter has gone for a toss. So may be I need to go for a new one :(

@Navin, I want to check the OP of the component too. If i connect a small Speaker to the O/P port of the XO, can I get sound to the Speaker ?

Yes, you can take a small speaker and connect it there. You can even connect a coaxial speaker to the tweeter o/p and listen - you should be able to hear the treble.
If you connect a coaxial, you will hear the tweeter in the speaker play.

Like Bob said you will get treble if you connect the small coax speaker to the HP output of the XO and hence you will get bass if you connect the same small coax speaker to the LP section (the bass might be attenutated because when you test your XO the small coax speaker will be in free air with no box or baffle to help it)..
