Let the speakers bleed..

Have finally upgraded my ICE setup and would love to share it with all you sound freaks out there. Also, this is my first attempt at starting a thread so kindly excuse the writing skills. As for the ICE setup, Here it goes

1. Pioneer 4950 unit

2. JBL GTO 0937 speakers at the rear. 6" x 9" (160 x 230mm).The GTO937 has a cone with more surface area than competing models of the same size. The benefits of Plus One are greater efficiency and bass output.

3. JBL 0607 components in the front
4. Rockford Fosgate 15" Level 1 PUnch series 8-ohm sub-woofer

5. Lightning Audio 4 channel amplifier(bolt series)

The whole setup now sounds crisp. Experts please advise. Ali G is in the house people, lets get this party started!

@mods- please excuse any mistakes with uploading pics or writing skills, im just a newbie..

BOOYAKASHA!

Looks good, Ali!

I guess you're running the front speakers and the sub off the amp, right?

BTW, 8 Ohm sub?

Yea the rockford piece is a beauty even when its not switched on. Im not quite a techie but the box reads, Rockford Fosgate 15" Punch P1 8-Ohm SVC subwoofer. You ask me if im satisfied? This one is satisfaction guaranteed!

Hey, YetiLord! To be honest one of my childhood friend's has put up an automobile accessories shop along with performance oriented parts. I dont know the name of this place, Just got this done yesterday; nor can I be precise over the cost because I got the pioneer 4950 head unit and 4 jbl speakers around 6 months back and have only added the amp and woofer now. And since we are pals Im sure i got it for a lot cheaper than its market selling price. Will call him and get you guys every specification and price in a day..

Thanks bro. yes you're right about the connections since he asked me to get a very basic amp for the rear speakers now.

To all you ICE lovers out there, ive spent "n" hours listening to sub-woofers, this one is worth its moolah!

Respect All.
@ Rehaan- Point taken captain!

Hey Ali!
great to know you are satisfied with the sound!

i was just having doubts because people don't use 8 ohm woofers in cars, and i didn't know any one made them!

technically the output from an amp is reduced as the ohm's increase.
Lightning Audio is a very respectable brand and can take 2 ohm easily.

But then, bro i want you ignore all this i said cause what matters is that YOU are happy with the way it sounds! Respect.

Btw, what car is this?

Peace out man

Also, i do feel that at times the battery does get affected. Some times I feel the self takes longer or am i just conscious now?

RF Stage 1 Punch is a 4 ohm sub, not 8. And my understanding was that their enclosed subwoofers (stage 1 or 2) were only 10" or 12". Havent seen a 15 incher listed anywhere. Where did you, or your friend, source it from Ali?

Guys, Its my mistake! The subwoofer is 4 ohms; I went back to the shop today to meet my pal and got the exact configuration. I had read the wrong box, the 4ohm and 8ohm sub are shockingly identical in cosmetics and size. Here are my honest corrections:

1. 15" Punch P1 4-ohm SVC sub woofer
2. The amp is a mono block one.

@montyguru, saintsinner: period
@saintsinner: Its an OHC type II
@determinus: well they have all 3 stages; P1, P2, P3 and they have sizes ranging from 8" to 15" for subs and I believe he is a licensed dealer for rockford and lightning audio.
@ Sam- I hope you've got the configuration by now and BTW i paid 22k for the amp and the sub with the earthquake cabling and entire installation. The name of the place is MOTOKRAFT,its opposite janki centre in andheri(w). The chap is a dear friend and I shall try my best to get competitive prices if any T-bhpian wants to upgrade.

Thank you All for correcting me, I believe its never too late to learn.
Just a pic of my baby
Respect..

Actually, that roughly translates to Tupac rules forever. But thank you, and I have not the foggiest idea of ICE. I liked the thread name, so I popped in, and I liked what I saw on the HU, so I posted.
