Thats exactly what I said to Amit... but as always the lure for more power, more loudness gets them.

.
But from Two DVC 4 ohms is it possible to get resultant 4 ohms?? As far the Rockford site says...2 x 4 ohms DVC can give resultant 1 ohms or 8 ohms. And kicker amp is not stable below 2 ohms.

OR

Do you mean like gunbir said, use 1 amplifer with 1 woofer at 4 ohms and get another zx2500.1 for the other woofer??

Ajay urf B&T, at Mumbai AV Expo, you got your wagon R which had a AudioBahn 4KDN...which is rated at 4000 watts @ 1 ohms...

And, i am sure he wax playing those at 1 ohm rating...as he was powering two huge GZ woofers, each like 2500 watts RMS.

And all this in a Wagon R.......I guess B&T can also explain some more things required for a 1 ohm system

You wire the two subs in series internally and then parallel to each other.

So each sub has a resistance of 8 ohms. Two of them in parallel will result in a 4ohm resistance.

1. change the big 3
2. check your alternator and battery throughly
3. if the dimming still bothers you add a 1-2F cap (rule of thumb is 1F per KW since you will exceed 1KW after you add your second amp 2 F might be "it").
thanx for the suggestions, but its a brand new car, just a month old. if i change the BIg 3 wont it void my warranty.

what could be wrong with my alternator and battery, how can i get it checked.

i thought just by adding a cap would solve my problem, is it really worth spending on a cap.

Big 3 wont void you warranty.

If you car is new I dobut the alternator or battery are poor. However just check that the alternator is putting out the rated amps and that the battery is showing 12.5V+

remember the cap will help more with the dimming problem that with the sound per se.

The GZ subs in concern are dual 1 ohms. So i had two dual 1 ohms and presented the amp with a 1 ohm load. Thus, you can wire two dual 4 ohms subs to present 4 ohms to the amp. akg has explained how.

Just to my surpise....i was going through the kicker website...It only says that its 2500 @ 2 ohms. They do not mention anything about 4 ohms and stuff.

After all this screwup happened....feel ashamed to name the thread "Check out the SPL stuff"
