I am planning to buy a new HU from US. I have narrowed down the choices to:
a) Pioneer 6900 UB
b) Kenwood Excelon KDC X591 and Kenwood Excelon KDC X791
c) Blaupunkt Hamburg
Guru's can you please recommend which one is a better option? I am little skepticle with Pioneer as it does not have European tuning. Someone in this forum had indicated that FM won't work in India for such a system
Anyone has any experience with KDC X591. I am leaning towards it because it has USB and Aux Input (key features that I need) and a very decent price tag. KDC X791 comes with bluetooth, but honestly, I can live without it. Please advice.

^ could you post pictures please!! There are few pictures on the net, and they are all from straight in front, so can't really see the facade of the HU, so it's hard to tell. High resolution would of course be very nice, as would prices for the other models!!

im not really sure but i dont think these hdd's can be connected.the usb out on the hu can give only 500mA which is enough to power a usb drive but not a hdd.

Too early for a comparison I think, but would be interesting to know.

How are you liking it? Also please try and compare it to some of the HU which you have owned in the past.

I am quoted 4500 for 2090 and 6500 for 4090. The 4090 is the lowest model with a USB cable. There is yet another model at 7500 which is same as 4090 but with different CD ejection.
The guy is quoting a composite amount (8.7K and 11Krespectively) for these HUs with pio 4 Inch for front dash install and 6x9s in the hatch for my WagonR. I think I will go in for the one with USB, but do not want the fancy eject thingie.

What do you think? All are with service offered by the installer. (I do not care about B&W coz. he is near my office)
This is at Cochin / Ernakulam.
Posting on this thread because the prices I am quoted are for these new models, some of which are apparently yet not available in some places.

Your HU choice is fine but most definately you can do a little better with the speakers. Stretch the budget a teeny bit and go for 5.25" or 6" co-axials on the door panel. With the help of wooden spacer rings you can have a neat install. If the installer you approached says door install is not possible/not good then walk away.

The new models have all hit the market with the exception of the 6050(or 6090) which AFAIK will be available worldwide only in 2008.
