Pioneer 304F enclosure need help!

hello everyone..

i need some help putting my pioneer subwoofer in a box. presently its in a bass reflex type enclosure. and i hate the sound coming from it. its too boomy lacking in punch.

the model is a pioneer 304F which is about 3-4 years old now.. I read that it is a free air woofer and will need to be put on the tray .

i had it in my ikon on the tray 3 years back and loved every bit of it then. Now i need to put it in boot of My NHC.

-Also will the JBL GTO 604 or the sony 604 do justice to it. I need help on selecting the type of enclosure?

You say that you loved the free air install when in Ikon and hate the enclosured sound. Then why are you looking for a box? Why cant it be installed on the NHC tray? (b) What size is the BR box and what are you feeding it currently? May be just changing the amp might solve your problem.

hi..

i already have the woofer in the box as i didnt want to spoil the interiors of the NHC.

Since i sold my ikon 2 years back.. i transferred the sub with a box in the NHC.

Amp was a basic 4 channel alpine ( i think V12) has gone Bad Now.. all thaks to Ringroad Honda,,, During the Body wash.,. n they simply deny that...

i need an amp as well to power it..

My current set up it

pioneer 7750 headunit
jbl 605c in the fronts
jbl 937 in the rear

please suggest me a nice amp aswelk i have budget of 8k. to power my components and the woofer.

Looking for tight bass,, no boom boom.. i just hate that,,

thanx

You could try to get an older GTO 4 channel for that money. Blau or Pioeer also has amps in that range. If you are looking for tight bass and no boom, then perhaps you should look beyond the Pioneer woofer; something that works in a sealed enclosure better. Been discussed many times. Search the "Car audio advice from gurus" thread.

1. wrong sub.
2. wrong enclosure.

from what you are set out to do, sub still remains wrong. i don't know how good a wrong sub in a right enclosure may do. but if you plan to use the enclosure later on, then you must go for a good wooden box of MDF... should cost you around 1800-2000 depending on what materials you use and who makes it and try it out.

sorry for my ignorance. but what is this NHC? do u mean new honda city?
