put up the costs as well. they do matter at the end of it as well. i like all 3 in this case, but id take the one which would be bluetooth expandable since its a little more future proof

Have just fixed the JVC AVX 800 in my i10. Got it last month and fixed it now. It was 27K with B/W. Also get it for 24K in Grey.

I heard that this Model is discontinued and not in Market anymore. It is replaced with JVC AVX 814 which supposedly has removable front frame and far LESS options.

I am just 24 hrs old with AVX800, so no review comments as yet. But first look, it is really cool with great picture quality and loads of Cool Options.

JVC has Bluetooth expandable option, you need to get the kit (KS-BTA200) which
is close to $95 I think, here in Bangalore it costs close to 6K. Once
fitted, the HU has awesome features like Auto pickup, SMS reading etc etc.

Alpine I heard was close to 40K, not sure.

Vittal,

In my experience with the head units you mentioned;

1. Output - Alpine > JVC > Pioneer
2. Build Quality - Pioneer > Alpine > JVC
3. Sound Quality - JVC > Pioneer > Alpine
4. Video Clarity - Pioneer > Alpine > JVC
5. Features and Expansion goodies - JVC > Pioneer > Alpine
6. Price - JVC > Pioneer > Alpine (cheaper is better)

My advice, go for the JVC 814 (i think) that has a detachable face plate, another first in the industry. Or go for the new Alpine w505.

Though very similar I did not like the new 814's interface, it looks very crappy, the AVX800 had a beautiful UI.

Also in some cars the AVX800 fits in flush mount into the dash, but the 814 sticks out which does not look that good.
SQ are the same as far as I saw.

The user manual of JVC AVX 800 is 86 pages!!!!!.
Lots and loads of options!!

I tried Alpine also, and I guess Gunbir's review is perfect, Alpine had
more clarity and looked solid. But for the price, JVC is super cool.

I used the JVC 900 (on Gunbir's recco) in both the JBL swift twins. it was a terrific choice.
Actually he had recommended the 800 (the 900 has a TV tuner also)
One is stolen now and has been replaced with the JVC 814.

I recommend the JVC 814 too.

I cannot tell you. I will have to admit that I bought it from the grey market and if I admit that, I'll have to kill you, lol.

Sam, write it in Roman script instead of Arabic numerals, with your left hand!
