Best direction to face box subwoofer in boot of car ?

Which is the best direction to face the subwoofer (boxed) in the boot of an Esteem ? I currently have a meshed plank so I faced the sub facing upwards towards the mesh.

Try out various placement options and choose the one most pleasent to your ears. As a general rule, pointing it to the boot lid gives a slightly louder output, if that is what you are looking for.

face it straight upfront. like a man. the subwoofer ain't got no power to beat ya any which way, no need ya meshed plank et all. all da best.

if you don't really care about the mesh plank ,you can cut a hole about the same size as the sub is and cover it with some grill so things might not fall on the sub..removing the plank will make the inner rear look ugly.the most successful direction to face the sub is pointing opposite rear seat..but its better to try than to blindly trust
