I'd also like to know if the GTO8607C (5" x 7" 2-Way Component System) is available. I know Sam is not available right now, but can someone help here ? I'd really like to get my hands on this one for my fusion.

if this model is not available, what are the other options/brands ?! i need these to go into the stock door pods. thanks in advance guys.

around 300W RMS, desi 2 channel alpine bridged would be the best deal to run this to mechanical limits (if you like boooom)! for something better, opt for CS 60.2 or 75.2 if you can find one.

panky...i absolutely hate booom and no desi crap please. i need the bass to be tight. i don't mind even sony, but definitely no fake stuff !

you can open up the sub and check for the model number on the back plate.

If it is F then try to install it in a IB install and if it is a C then go for the enclosure.

It is nominal rated for 160 watts but you can give it 250 watts easily as I had used pair of these subs on a 944 amp which gave out 250 rms.

@nip, that's a ported box, so I don't think you need thaaaaat powerful an amp for pretty good results. Like panky mentioned, a cs60.2 (if you can still find one) should do a pretty good job. Else you can take a look at the Blau GT2 special (3K or so) or the Blau GTA280 (6K or so). Between the Blaus, the 480 would be the better option.

Since you mentioned you wanted 5x7s also, maybe you could also look at a 4-ch amp to drive those too. Better value for money Then, the JBL CS60.4 (7K) or the Blau GT4 special (5.4k or so) or the Blau GTA480 (10.2K or so) or the GTO75.4 (13K, if you can find one) or one of the JBL GT5 4-ch amps (available in Jan 2nd week I think) or the Kenwood KAC8140 (not too sure of the model no, about 5K in grey)would be the options.

For the 5x7s, I'm told the GTOs are a bit hard to find. You'll have other options in the Blau GT series, the TH series and Polk Momo (all coaxials). I personally hated the Polk Momos I'd listened to in a Fusion.

You'll get options in 5x7 components in the Hertz Energy series (ESK570, 8.5k I think) and the Hi-Energy series (HSK570). You'll also get coaxials from Hertz.

thanks hydra. i think this amp (GTA 4 Special Mk II) makes sense right now:

fits right into my budget. you think this is a right match to drive my sub ? i'll use this amp to drive the sub and comps. HU to drive the coax in the rear doors. now only if i can find 5x7 components. even i feel polks are very over rated. thanks to souljah who warned me about them. if i cant find decent components, i'll just go with another set of JBL 8627 coaxials for the rear doors. i already have them in the front and they sound simply brilliant !!

i intend to do this only in the 2nd week of jan, so hopefully the JBL GT5 series should be available. if not, i'll just go in for the blau amp.

go for 75.2 if you find one!! awesome amp to drive a pair of speakers or a sub, and since you'll be using a ported, dont expect bass to be tooo tight.

for driving s sub even teh sony 552 (3K) will suffice. However if you find one get the Blau PA 275. It puts out 250W+ in mono.

This is one little but powerful amp! I was too late in making JK an offer when he sold his.

@NIP, Iv got an old Blaupunkt 480 which Im not going to use. Its a 4 channel so might not suit your needs unless you wanna drive a pair of speakers too
Will PM you the details.
