Hi experts,
I am a noobie to the world of ICE and seek your help for my Ikon's speaker setup. Currently, the car has the factory fitted HU with a cassette player and a 6-cd changer in the trunk (not sure of the brand) with 2 front and 2 rear speakers (again, I do not know the brand).

Off late, the rear speakers seem to be having some issues with handling slightly higher sound level, which has made me look at replacing the speakers. After going through similar threads in this section, I am thinking of the changing over to the following:

JBL GTO 507C : Front
JBL GTO 937 : Rear

Can you please suggest
a) if these speakers would work well with the existing HU or do I need to go in for a HU change as well?
b) if an amplifier is a must for this setup?
c) where in Bangalore can I get this change done?

Girish.

upgrading to speakers u mentioned will make your system sound much more better ,may be louder too because factory fitted speakers are just simple and cheap speakers and those speakers(new) have higher efficiency thus sounding louder and more clearly..i.e. they will work out well:)

the thing you should look for is after upgrading to new speakers,is that loud enough for you?
if not you MAY go for a 2/4 channel amp according to your need.
if you dont need a sub -don't buy it..you should be the person to take the decision!
now for head unit.. if you are not satisfied with the sound quality of ur factory deck then u may go for a better aftermarket one..if ur satisfied ur way to go..
if you are not satisfied with the sound output/loudness with new speakers then you may go for a 2/4 channel amp..just make sure your headunit have RCA out..best of luck

The Factory HU will need line level adpaters however some amps have line level inputs.

if you find your self pushing the volume past it's halfway mark get an amp it will help.

in bangy, anwar, deepak asrani, blueraven (a member here) can help.
