I figured. I just want to know why. I am amazed that in this day and age, instead of fixing the root of the problem the installer has used a "band-aid" solution.

Very true. I have seen some chokes also which are used in the main battery wire also. Will post the pics if I got to see any.

Also, your woofer seems different. My 1204BR is black and orange color combination. Looks like the one you installed is a very old version ( or is it a newer version). If its an old version, better head back to the dealer and replace with the newer version.

Somebody please confirm!

If possible pls upload the pic of the same..

Ah, the problem with fakes these days.
They look so much like the original product.
The poor unsuspecting consumer pays happily thinking it's original and the shrewd, cheating shopkeepers will gladly blurt out lies that, "Yes Sir, it surely is original".

I'm glad you posted pics of your setup mate.
Did the shopkeeper say the whole wiring was JBL original?
What reason he gave you for installing that "noise suppressor" ? (Metal cylinder)
What excuse he gave for a shabby install with the wires thrown/dangling here and there?

(Merely asking to have a little insight on the marketing tactics these "authorized dealers" will play to cheat customers)
