Innovative Illusions - My Innova gets ICEd

Yesterday took my Innova and drove straight to the tire wallah and switched to 225/60/15 Michelins MXV8, then i went to Boom Audio in Bandra to get my ICE Installed. Here is the thread which i started to get opinions about what i should install.

Firstly i would like to thank the following for their fantastic help and gyaan they have offered me : - B&T aka Ajay, Navin, DerAlte, OralFibroid, Montyguru, Akshay12345678, speedzakie, vidyou, tireswallah aka irags, Sammy Singh, amitunderscoresSound, LBassM, (as)souljah & last but not the least BUSA for getting it done There are many more people whom i am sure i have missed out, i would like to thank all for their help.

My budget :

Toyota Dashboard Kit, something on the lines of Scosche and a perfect fit for the 1din HU, but cheaper then the Scosche.
HU - Pioneer DEH7950UB
Fronts : - Illusion Electra 6.1 6.5” 2 way components
Rears : - Illusion Electra 6.1 6.5” 2 way components
Amp - JBL GT5 - A604, 4 Channel Amplifier
4 Speaker Mounting Ring for each door
Ichibahn Audio Interconnect RCA Cable Street Series – 20ft
GZPK10 Power Wiring Kit
2 x Illusion Reference Series 16AWG Speaker Cable
Noise Kill – 17sq.ft for all four doors.
Wiring Harness to connect HU

As you notice i have spend a good part of the money on the wires, since they are very very important. Actually everything is. The tweeters on the rear are mounted on the doors, fuse for the Amp is in the hood.

No sub yet, i plan to go for two 8inch subs, placed below the seats run via a monoblock, which accounts to 30k INR, which i plan to buy the Petes box with, so sub later. Sorry ICE guys from bringing in stupid engine-vengine talk here.

As requested or rather told at gun shot point to post pics by OF aka MF, iRags, viddy and the rest, i am doing the needful. I still have to click the pics after the install with the amp placed below the seata and HU, but was really tired, the install took 6.5 hours and i was standing through it. The install was done very very professional and Zohir of Boom Audio has been very helpful throughout. He was there throughout and explained everything very well and has done a fantastic job, highly recommend him for any installs.

Enough of the blabber, here are the pics, as promised.

The Car

Stock HU

Look MA, no HU

Opening the door

Stock Tweeter Location with stock tweeters

Illusion Tweeters

Stock Speaker

Stock ones not that crappy(as said by montyguru), Have Magnets will attract

Inside damped

Full Door damped

Ring Installed

Speaker Installed

The amp and the illusion wiring for speakers

RCAs

Messed up

All the more messed up

Next door damping done and speaker installed

Thats it and i got too tired, it went dark so stopped taking pictures, but same thing happened to the rest two doors.

Any questions you can just hop in.

Never knew you got your innova already! Congrats BUSA.

Was wondering why there is no sub in the set-up. Then, saw the part about Pete's. Are you going for Pete's after run-in?

What was the rate for noise kill? Where did you source it from?

Thanks Crazy, got the car yesterday itself and then got the work done.

Pete's will come at 5000kms, after 2nd service.

Noise Kill is Rs. 150/sqft i think, half of what the Dynamat sells for. Got it from Boom Audio as he stocks it himself.

Sound Quality is very good, just the way i like it, the HPF was adjusted according to what i wanted through the amp.

Part 2, after the Petes Box, will add a sub, planning on a Bass Tube with inbuilt monoblock, but before that i guess ill have to do something about the Swifts, which seems to be sounding like it has Dhoom speakers in comparission to the Innova.
