Query about JBL speakers

Hi all,

I am a bit confused about which speakers to get for Getz. I have a choice between
1. JBL GTO 607 components (6-1/2" 2-Way Component System) or
2. JBL GTO 637 3 way coax

Will the above fit in the stock speaker locations in the front doors?

I have been quoted a price of INR 2000 for JBL GTO 607, which I find hard to believe (I thought components were expensive?). Is this the right price?

For the rear, I have decided on JBL GTO 937 3 way coax. I have been quoted INR 2750 for these. Any thoughts?

2K sounds ridiculously low. There must be some scam.

Yes, even I was amazed. I think he quoted the price for GTO 637 instead of 607

Those are some funny prices you have been quoted Nishant. Either its really grey market or you are being given duplicates.

937 GTOs dont cost less than atleast 4900/- a set approx.

Even 2000 is way too low for components. The MRP on the 507s is 5500/-. Be careful this guy might be taking you for a ride.

You cannot buy new GTO607's for that price anywhere in the world.

@ Sam - What would be the expected price for 607, 637 and 937?

The MRPs are 6500, 3750 and 4950 respectively. Due to obvious competition in trading you can get a discount on these prices baba. But at 2000 for components? Not possible.

Not even Yamato components are at that price.

I don't know whats the reason behind it but i was offered Rs 3500 for GTO 937 with bill and Warranty Card. The dealer even showed me warranty card which was in the box plus he was giving his bill.

I bought my 937 without b&w for 2900 and the guy at the shop was willing to give me bill and warranty for 700 extra. which works out to 3600 with b&w.
His logic was, that this product is soo good that he is sure that I wont be using the warranty and hence he is giving it at a lil extra cost (sounded ridiculous but this is what he said)

But even I could not find the comps for 2000. Even the fake ones will be priced higher otherwise people will see the sham in an instant.

Could it be that the dealer got second hand comps which are genuine and is now selling them

A quick check is that the box should have a sticker declaring that the product is imported and marketted by Sahil Int. with a proper MRP printed on it in INR.

Sam, please correct if i am wrong.

GTO937 is now bulk trade item in the car accessory market - being the highest selling 6X9 speaker in India, outselling nearest rival speakers by a few thousand every month.
Also it is a benchmark in terms of price. People judge store pricing based on the price of the GTO937.
The 937 therefore is super discounted and often presented to the customer as a loss leader. Profits are made from the sale of other items along with this product.
