i want to install a ice system for indigo xl (petrol). I want a basic system without subwoofer (intended for use by my dad), but good SQ.

After talking to one of the car accessories dealer, he suggested;

1) Coustic 6x9 ovals for rear
2) Pioneer HU (HU price ranges from Rs.6000-9000) with 2 years autocop warranty.
I already have front 5" stock speakers of OPTRA which i intend to use in front.
Budget for the system is approx Rs.12,000/- . Also, how good are Alpine HU compared to Pioneer in the price range of Rs.8500/-

Thanks in advance for inputs. :)

Avoid unknown brands unless you find them far better in a comparison. You can afford to get JBL 6x9 (like GTO 937) or Blau GTx/THx 693. Do audition them before deciding.

Why do you want to change the HU. It comes with a DVD HU. Get things like amps and compo's. This will give you more improvement than the HU upgrade.

So best would be
1. Get Compo's for front + Amp.
In a JBL system it will cost you around 11-12K for that, and the improvement in sound quality will be excellent.

The Model of Indigo XL is CLASSIC, which does not have any HU or speakers.
