I'd Recommend the pioneer 5050UB HU very good Work Horse(might not be the Best in the Market)

Sub ????
Let me think; are u planning another AMP ?
MonoBlock for the sub ?
If so the Sub Selection has to be Based onthe ohmage and RMS power of the amp.

I hope you understand what i Mean !!!

I hope you are having fun with the Electras - I'm loving them! (And I don't even have an amp or a sub!)
@vebmetal - care to provide a short review of Illusion Electra 6.1? I am planning to get them and like you, without sub or amp and with Pio 5050 HU. So would like to know a first hand review from you.
BTW, how much did you get them for?

Talking about music is like dancing to architecture - but sometimes dancing is the best you can get. I'll give you a short review right here - awesome. A very good and balanced sound. Very very good on bass - I haven't experienced much, but these babies produce more "thump" than any other 6.5" speaker that I have seen. That said, they produce well over the whole spectrum. I don't have much of a complaint yet, though some things sound a little muddy to me. But I imagine that will go away once I get an amp.

And yeah, they don't give an angle mount with these components, and though the flush mount cup is perfect for what it is made for (i.e. flush mounting)
it's not suitable for mounting it at an angle for the dash.

Custom Tweeterpod for Illusion Electra EL6.1

Could you post pictures of these also? I have exactly the same problem. My EL6.1 tweeters are currently lying horizontally shooting up straight into the windshield. I suspect I can get a better sound by having it at an angle. Unfortunately, Illusion doesn't have angle mounts, and according to the installer, other brands' angle mounts wouldn't fit it.
Hey Veb, here is the long awaited picture - found some time atlast,

This is a angled mount tweeterpod for the Illusion Electra Tweeters:

Thanks MillionSwords, but I already got to hear them at Hi-Tech Car Jewels, Nungambakkam. I must say, they sound purely delicious. Planning on mating them to a GT5-604 AMP. Hope this does the job.

@MS, Does the 8401 amp sound good with electra ?

I don't understand. Isn't the angle mount used to put it horizontally on the dashboard? It seems in the pictures that the tweeters are just stuck on the A-pillar.

I preferred them on the A-Pillar, and hence they are stuck there!
A perfect sound staging this is! I'm not a fan of the dashboard angled mount!

Amit, how much do they Quote for the Illusion Electra @ Hi-Tech? The 8401 is a sweet amp, and you should listen to the setup to believe it!

Ahh, how did you stick them? I tried using double-sided tape, but the adhesive was not strong enough to hold them for more than a few hours.

If you are not using the angle mount, care to give / sell them?

I didnt ask them. Told them I would bring my car in today and get the amp and comps fitted. I never buy from them, prices are atleast 2k extra for any item, but they're very friendly and have OK installers and give some free goodies (perfumes, diaries, ). I fitted an Alto there once though. FYI They give you a free audio CD with their own theme music on it

Usually buy stuff b&w from North usman rd. , T nagar. Good no. of shops there.

How much will the electra 6.1 and kenwood 8401 cost ?? how much should i bargain upto ? (prices with and w/o b&w )

@Amit - I doubt if we can get the Illusions here @ Chennai?
I enquired a whole lot of Shops @ GP Road, NewCollege, Vadapalani etc., but could not find the illusions at all! I went to Technokrat/Hi-Tech Car jewels as the name goes too, but he was not aware of Illusion Audio at all! wonder how you managed to see a demo!

He was not having a demo for any Compos for that matter, NO JBL Demo, NO Polk Demo, all that he has for demo is "OVALS" and that is what all men in Chennai know about!

"machha, Ovals pottukoda, adhu Soopera irukkum! Sooper bass da adhu!!"

Wow man that is the taste of Chennai! huh I guess cheap bass is for idiotic Auto Fellas - and would like to see Chennai guys grow to a great Listening Taste!
(by the way, I'm a Chennai born brought up! So I have all the rights to swear my men, and ask them to grow in taste!)

@ Amit again,

Illusions with B/W = 6490/-
Kenwood w/o Bill/W = Rs.5000/- (or a little less)

Happy Hunting!

I wonder again where you managed to listen to Illusion Audio!??

Was that guy @ Mahalingapuram(hi-tech) named V.B. ??

MS
