I think the 1204 would run better since it needs comparitively lesser power than a GT-5. I'm currently running my GT-5 off a blau GTA-480 amp, and it runs very well. No clipping at any volumes.

CS1204 is 250W RMS and GT5-12 is 275W RMS.

Coming back to my question, what I meant to ask was that given that I will be supplying less power (180W), will the GT5 give me better / same / worse performance than the CS1204?

bro by now the whole section browsing the ICE section might have come to know that i have done all sorts of "KIDAS"(spent over 25 K) and R&D to get my ice right.
i have learnt that if u want more output and SQ from sub u need to power it as per its specs. u power it with JBL 75.4 and JBL 604.1/ Pio amp/ kenwood 8401 whatsoever u want, u will find a marginal difference.
its not that they wont work they will work but not to their full potential.

I'm no ice guru, but i think the CS 1204 would run better than a GT-5 in a low power situation. Not sure on this though.

@veb, since u've not bought your amp, i suggest u stretch your budget a little more and get a powerful amp!

yes gt5 cannot run at more potential with low power. u need 275 watts rms as per rule but 200 plus should be supplied.

I found GT4-12 better then GT5-12. It pounces better and bass was much better but listen to your ears amit.

I was quoted Rs.3500 for GT5-12 with B/W
