what cable is this

I'm planning on getting a pioneer head unit which is IPOD compatible (Pioneer DEH-P6000UB known as the 5050 in india i think(i know some one will correct me here if I am wrong))

An extra accessory for this Head unit to make it iPod Compatible is CD-IU50 This looks a lot like the Regular iPod USB Cable. Can someone please clarify.

Mor over on the Page for the DEH-P6000UB it states "
Enjoy your music in your car, whether it’s from your CD collection, iTunes or Windows Media music libraries. Connect your iPod (using our optional CD-IU50 cable), or your USB music player directly to the DEH-P6000UB."

Where as on clicking the link for the cable it states " You can connect your iPod to the DEH-P7900UB tuner with this single cable; and then control all functions of your iPod directly from the tuner."

Am totally confused

Some help Please

Its the same cable. Your regular iPod cable should work just the same.

The 5050 has a redish sort of glow around the rotary dial.

Expect to pay between 6.5 - 7k for this. VEBmental has paid around 9k for the 6050.

From what I know, all you need to do with the 6000UB is connect its USB port to your standard USB iPod cable and iPod. Thats it.

So this model DEH-P6000 is the equivalent of 6050 in India? (Which I believe is available in grey market at around 7.5k - 8.5K (city specific))

I thought 5050 was in the 6.0 - 6.5k price range?

^^^ Only 2 smilies allowed (smiles no limit)!

The 7950 is the web-content-writer's fault; any iPod-ready HU would be able to use this (or even Apple's) cable.

iPod-ready means that the HU has the plug-and-play function to detect an iPod signature over the USB port and then scan the iPod index. If a disk-drive-emulation signature is found, the HU reads the root directory onwards for available media files.
