Nlite is a wonderful too to work with, but for starters, follow the below link for a step-by-step guideline to strip XP off its flab for EEEPC installation.

nLite Windows XP Install on Asus Eee PC
dude! that new, will check it out.

as far as nlite is concern, infact i am part of group that creates a lighter version of win xp (tiny xp), and now vista. (retestrak.nl)

its very popular on net and all the torrent sites. dude auto is just my hobby, but PCs/IT is my profession.

The world is your marketplace with Ebay at your service....;-)
Ex. Ebay Item number 200213142680.

There are atleast 20 others selling EEEPC touch screens and ships worldwide.

Infact selling 7" touchscreen kit is a roaring business on ebay after the success of the EEEPC.

There are kits which does not even need any sort of soldering.

I havent tried this seller. But have purchased from ebay sellers from China, Hongkong many times before... For shipments to Canada, it usually takes 6-7 days. Might be faster to India...

Just thought to share this info. Today at 9:00pm IST i had this chance to watch the "Trick it out" soap about customizing automobiles. It was on VH1 channel. They had 2 groups selected and each one of them was given a Honda Civic to customize inside out. It was mind blowing. This one group had around 5 LCD panels fixed into the Dash. They even showed how did they do it. Another group had latop, scanner and Digital camera fitted into. In case you have a chance to watch this soap if at all its repeated then please do watch it since you are planning a Car PC.

After reading the whole thread i still have a basic query...

Can we use Asus EEEPC as a car computer or not, For me it can be made worked like this....

Asus EEEPC graphics output diverted (placed below front seat) -> a touchscreen 7" screen mounted on dash.

This way the EEEPC can be taken out when and where required + complete hassle free computer setup in car.

What do you say guys, am i too much fanatic or too much optimistic ??

Why not? I don't think there's anything that stops you from using the Asus EEEPC as a car computer. As far as I know it has an analog RGB output for an external monitor/screen. It has USB ports that allow you almost unlimited expandability and provides decent performance too.

In fact I think this is a great idea and I'm considering this myself for my new car especially because of the option of taking out the computer when required since the Delhi heat can be devastating at times.
