With 100W think smaller subs. either a 8" or 10". bigger subs with bigger Mms (most 12" "car subs" are high Max-high Mms designs) need more. much more.

i already have a JBL bass reflex ported box kind of designed box. i want to put a decent sub to it which will give a nice soft sound rather than a hard beat.
i have heard that sony subs give a soft sound than JBL subs which give a hard punch. does this hold true?

gurus please help me fast i have to decide within 2 days, so that i can dump that Philips Sub with the same person i got it from and exchange it for a new good ones. i will retain the Dynamo amp as it runs the rear JBL speakers very fine.
i will power a sun with my 2 channel sony. but now i cannot do any R&D. i just need a perfect sun in the BASS REFLEX Enclosure.

If you want to go for a decent sub i would suggest GZ MK2 in a sealed enclosure go for it..its awesome VFM.

navin sir does it imply that since i have a JBL bass reflex box it makes more sense to go for JBL gt5/1204 ?

sir i am having a myth that sony subs give a soft punch while others givea hard punch. is this true?

You may contact B&T for the prices for the GZ,as suggested by navin sir,try out the GT5 or the Infinity also,no you dont need a power cap for the subwoofer, ive driven the MK2 with the kenwood 2channel amp,as well as the 4channel 8401,blaupunkt GTA4 and its running on soundstream Xtreme series XTA 720.4,you wont regret your decesion on this cheers...

not nessacarily. the box might have been designed for a different JBL woofer? What happened to the original JBl woofer in the box. I did not know JBL sells boxes sans woofers.

no sir, its not an original JBL box. its a copy with exact dimensions and MDF material with same porting and baffles from inside with the tunnel.

sir one frank opinion from you please. shall i go for sony 1000 watts or sony 1300 watts as i just have a 2 channel amp that too made of sony ?
does it make sense?

sir how about GT5-12 ??

shall i got for it?? the rated min power is 275watts

sony amp gives 130 watts over 4 ohms

will it be a nice deal

the JBL Sub anyday would be a too better option than the Sony Sub.The best way is give back the philips amp as well as the sony amp and put a Blaupunkt GTA4 or a Kenwood 8401 4channel amp and take the JBL subwoofer in a sealed box...all tensions gone.Tell the guy to do this as you are not satisfied with the sound after spending soo much on it.I know how it feels when you spend on the ICE which is a fav.part of the car and the response gives us a sleepless nights.

EDIT:even the new JBL 604 is a VFM buy for a single subwoofer + coax.
