No point if your senses are not capable enough or you yourself don't know what are you looking for. All of this comes with years of experience and exposure to variety of the stuff.

Well said, @autophile! Everyone has ears, but it is more a matter of appreciation of "senses" and refinement.

Some people do make a difference by taking this "appreciation" to the masses, since the same principles are valid at all price points. Isn't that what TBHP is all about?
