Bithrday Gift, AMP AND SUB....

I was totally surprised by my GF when she gave me a JBL CS1024 SUB and JBL GT5 A604 Amp as gift on my birthday. She took the car and got it fitted from the dealer with out me knowing it and then in the night when we went out I was given the surprise.
As the dealer is not professional in fitting these ICE Components, I would like to know from gurus on Team BHP how to tune the amp and sub to get the best output.
The Amp is fitted under the co drivers seat but i am thinking of changing its location and put it on the wall of the boot.

I find it hard to believe that you are not able find a good installer in Mumbai.

Its a different matter if you want to Do it yourself.

By wall of the boot you mean the side wall right ?

There have been numerous posts on as to how to tune you system.

Ideally you should set the gains on amps in such a manner that they are niethr over powering the comps\sub nor under powering them, also may have to set HPF & LPF on amp if available. once this is done you can do remaining settings from the HU.

I am sure some one can word it better than me

ICE Installers

Hey bro, congrats on your gift. That your woman was behind this makes it even better. I'm surprised that you haven't found a good installer though.

Where in Mumbai are you located ?

I know of one in Khar - W, off the Benetton store/ GKB Opticals junction. It's called FM Drive and you can ask for Pankaj Bhai. He's a good guy, knows his stuff, reasonable and reliable too. PM me if you are keen and i'll give you his contact number. Alternatively, check with Navin sir, B&T, Sam, etc, these gurus sure know some pretty good installers.

Cheers bro,

Enjoy the music

Everyone said so much. They forgot 2 things

1) Swapnil, do you like the sound?

2) A belated happy birthday to you.

I must admit, that's a thoughtful girlfriend you got there. Do give her my compliments and a smile on knowing what men want.

DUDE!! this is the first time ever i have heard any girl gifting a guy something related to his car.
My girlfriend will gift me everything else other than the car accessories.
Salute to your GF. may be she can conduct some seminars and classes to tell other gals what men really want

congrats on your Sub and Amp, belated birthday!!
there are lots of good installers in mumbai. else you can go to the same place where she got it fitted from and supervise the stuffs yourself. get the amp out of the seats and place it in boot which will be free from dust. also get the wiring done properly. he will do it for free if you have purchased the sub and amp from him.

Oh this thread reminds me my girl also gifted me 306 DVC Sub long back in 2005. Thats not what i would have bought myself. But since she gifted it its still on my DP. and car.
Anyway Bro, DIY can be risky. Its better to leave job on professionals and just enjoy watching them work. Cheers.

Swapnil! Lucky you and congrats on such a nice and sweet gift. Get the sub tuned and have a nice ride and drive safe. You can dedicate this song to her" You are simply the best, better than all the rest "
