SK, sadly you miss the point of this section.

Yes we like to discuss the finer points of audio and some exotic installs. BUT this section is primarily dedicated to resolving the issues that so many first time TBHP ICEers have. I would wish that all of you Gurus would put your personal differences aside and aid is in this endeavour.

If Driven, LBM, SK or anyone else has something positive to contribute to yayati's first post please feel free to do so.

Navin, you take any 12k Pio and any 12k Alpine. Which do you think will be brighter?

The P-8000 looks very nice - something that I would love to have in my car. Can it be installed in my Skoda RS in the stock location ?

I checked with a pioneer dealer in Faridabad he said that it might be available by end of June

He also quoted that the P5000 has been discontinued is this correct?

It is not possible to memorize and/ or pin-point the sonic signature of each and every bit of equipment of the many cars that you have heard just by listening to them as a whole system for limited periods of time. Yes, you may judge the system as a whole to be good or bad, which is perfectly acceptable. But judgements on individual bits would be very generalized. The grade of the system does not matter. Even if you were listening to perfectly ordinary equipment, you will not be able to pass an accurate judgement on individual components as easily as you are claiming.

The FH-P8000BT really looks a VFM (as per USD prices) head unit. Any idea as to how much will it cost in India as and when it will be available?

If it a replacement to P5000 then it would be around 11k - 14k

I think me & Ajay will take a chance & ask Nitrous to drive us around Chennai exactly around the time when we have a drink in our hands & exactly around the time when Anna is driving! Let's see how it goes!
