Fiesta ICE'd - All out JBL setup

Thanks to TBhp after much reading, discussion, audition, budget calculation and ultimately confusion got my Fiesta 1.6 Zxi ICE'd with an all JBL setup and now enjoying every moment of it
The Setup:
HU - Pio 4050
Front Comps - JBL GTO 507c
Rear ovals - JBL GTO 937
Sub - JBL GT5 12" (in custom made sealed enclosure, to dimensions specified in the sub manual)
Amp - JBL GTO 74.5 (The Beast hehe)
Component RCA, Sub wiring & Power wiring - Ground Zero kit
Sub RCA - Kicker local
Speaker wiring - normal JBL wires
No Damping

It's an all grey setup and the total cost was around 35K. I started out with a 25K budget (Thread here) and finally ended at this. The configuration I started with and ultimately ended up are pretty similar, with lots of confusions in between LOL.

The install was done by a guy referred by Raxx and I am very happy with the setup. The install was clean and the guy did it according to how I wanted and most important of all, handled things carefully.

Hmm. Enough of descriptions. Now the Pics will do the talking.

Finally, the amp's about to go in place and Nitrous giving instructions on how & where to mount it.

Amp getting screwed to the back of the Rear seat. No Plank available as it was a sunday, and so a direct mount on the metal.

The install took a good amount of time, with the installer taking time to do things slowly and properly. Nitrous and Million_Swords had come to watch the install and give their valuable tips & suggestions. Sadly, they could not stay till the install was over and audition the setup after tuning.

Three months ago I never dreamed that I would be so obsessed with the ICE, but I am greatful for TBhp and all TBhpinans who helped me calrify things and decide on the setup. many thanks.

Special thanks to Nitrous, who helped me source the ICE components and he helped me throught my quest for ICE. Thanks to Million_Swords, who arrived with the camera and clicking all the install pics. Thanks to Raxx to for providing the GroundZero amp wiring kit on time. The last minute attempt to get hold of power cable failed and this kit saved me.

Post install pics in my next thread....

Congrats on your JBLed Fiesta.

Enjoy music.

About the amp on the metal it has no issues until it is fully tightened on the sheet. If it is loose only then it is a problem.

The beast is 75.4 .

Want to know how safe the 507 are since the amp is designed for 4ohm.

Just now back from a drive down the GQ, from chennai to vellore, and what a drive it was!! and the ICE just made is even better

Now for the post install pics!! It's a stealth install with all the speakers/tweeters in stock locations

Fiesta ICE'd - All out JBL setup-dsc05303.jpg
The Pio4050HU, serves my need well, for the time being [Wink!!]

Fiesta ICE'd - All out JBL setup-dsc05316.jpg
The Amp, sub and the rear 6x9's

Fiesta ICE'd - All out JBL setup-dsc05317.jpg
The sealed mdf sub-box, custom made to the specified dimensions

Fiesta ICE'd - All out JBL setup-dsc05318.jpg
The rear 6x9's fitted from the under-side

Fiesta ICE'd - All out JBL setup-dsc05320.jpg
The amp, all wired up and firing!!

Fiesta ICE'd - All out JBL setup-dsc05321.jpg
The tweeter sitting inside the stock location in the fiesta

Fiesta ICE'd - All out JBL setup-dsc05322.jpg
The front component also in the stock location. Since the fiesta has a stock 5x7 in the front, had to settle for a 5-1/4" components rather than the planned 6-1/2" to avoid any panel/metal cutting. Still good enough. The components are mounted using a mdf spacer.

And finally the rear.. The 6x9 hidden underneath.

Hey believe me, these are pics after the install. Hehe!!

In my case seeing is not believing, hearing is!! LOL!

Congratulations on the fine equipment and install, praveen, u lucky fella.
I was amazed by the SQ during the audition yesterday. The same 507 sounded worse in my ikon. I realised the JBL 75.4 amp has made the difference, after all. And the rears blend in pretty well and the sub sure completes the spectrum.
I think this is a pretty well rounded setup. I would recommend this all JBL ,VFM setup anyday.

Congratulations Praveen, you sound really really happy. That's what counts more than anything else.

One small query, I see you've mounted the rear 6X9 from underneath. I guess the Fiesta stock location is 5X7. What did you do about the opening being smaller than the speaker?

Praveen, I wonder how it sounds with the 6x9 and the Sub near each other.
Would this do justice to the Sub at all? Wonder wonder wonder!! have to check it out soon, lets listen to it, next time we meet, soon haan?

It was a long damn hot day and spirit for good ICE kept us hanging around! No shelters, on the road, out of the city lol what a place to get ICEd man!!

I don't think it makes a difference to the sub really.

Okay let me put it the other way then, do you need the 6x9 at all? how does it sound? Would a 6" Coaxial on the rear doors not be better? than the 6x9ers?

Well it's all done and rocking, but just as a discussion thought to ask you fellas!!

Thanks LBM, It is tightened well for the moment. Will have to check periodically to see if it is coming loose

I like to listen to music with low- medium volume but with good bass. So the gains are low for the front compos and i think they are doing great without any issues
