Usually the whirring is inaudible. @sonic found that the whirring in his HU was rather loudly audible comparatively. In my Blau HU it is quite silent.

Out of the numbered buttons to change the FM channels, the No. 5 button works as a pause button when CD or USB is used as media.

I am being told that this HU don't have a preout for Subwoofer.
One cable is used to have two preouts RCA connections(Front and rear speakers), and the one for rear speakers can be used for Subwoofer.
I don't know whether this is a normal thing in blaupunkt headunit.
On the link in net, its mentioned that there is some interface for Subwoofer connectivity. Blaupunkt - Kingston MP47 - Technical Details
Can anyone clarify that whether this HU has pre-out for Sub or not?

The page mentions:
---------------------------------------------
Outputs
Subwoofer (number of): 1
Subwoofer (features): frequency, var. gain
Pre-amplifier (channels, voltage): 4-Channel (3V)
---------------------------------------------

So, it HAS one Sub output, whose Frequency span and gain you can control separately. The "4-channel" refers to the front and rear pre-out pairs.

Check the manual. The Sub-out is available on Pin 3 of Connector A at the rear. Needs an adapter bring it out as RCA socket.

Thanks deralte.
Thats right, I also saw it in manual and reconfrimed to blaupunkt through customer care. I just need to connect a adaptor cable for bringing out this pin3 subout as a RCA interface. Will try to get it.

Right now i am running my Sub by the rear speaker preout. So would it harm the system in any way?

No, it won't, since it is only a low-level signal take-off. The only difference is you don't have control over the sub signal unlike with the Sub output.

Re: Blaupunkt Kingston MP 47

Hello ICE Gurus!

I am having the Blaupunkt MP47 in my car for about 4 years now. It replaced a Sony which got stolen somehow. Now the thing is that the player used to play fine till a few days back, but now whenever I insert a CD, either it gives a 'CD-ERROR' or plays it in broken parts intermittently. This has made CD listening impossible in the player.

However, USB & Tuner play pretty fine without any issues. Am I having a dusty lens here & will it be possible to clean with a lens cleaner disc without opening the player? Also, do the gurus here can think of the problem lying elsewhere with the unit.

Please suggest.

Regards
