ICE the Beast

I get an SMS from Zak. I get ideas. I get wicked ideas too. I am gonna ICE my Safari 2.2L. It should be one of a kind at TBHP.It will be a budget install. It will be done by someone who loves ICE. It will be ICEd under Zak's/Hydra's wicked eyes.

All I can reveal is that I will HAVE to use my Alpine HU, 9870, my Pioneer 6000F 4 channel amp, my Pioneer Mono amp and hopefully my old 10inch JBL Ported Sub. I should also be using Audison RCAs I haev from my old install.

My only issue is how it will all be when all I have is one pre-amp out. Zak and Hydra says all will end up well. Wont it?

Hope to get this done before July ends.

Welcome to the wicked world of ICING. This will be more interesting as it is a BEAST job.

You'll have to settle with high volt inputs in your amp or use RCA convertors to connect the amp to your HU.

Sounds like the speakers are gonna be the new ones.
Some tips from an ICE'd Safari 2.2 owner:
1. You can mount the speakers only on the doorpads.
2. 6.5"ers seat properly. The plastic speaker pods on the doorpad will need some cutting/trimming.

6000F doesnt have high level inputs but has one RCA out and I guess this we can use to feed the 7200M mono.

7200M can take high level input I guess.

And I may have the converter that I got with the PA275. God knows where it is though:(

The 2.2 Safari comes with 6 Inch Speaker locations, however you can put in 6.5" Components using some custom wooden mounts.

6.5" Speakers will always sound louder than the same 5.25" counterpart, and there is less choice in the market for 6" Component speakers. Considering the large cabin space the louder a good speaker can get, the better.

Zucchero, you really ought to get some rubber washers between the clamps and the seat frame also how did you get the dyn tweeter to fit? What ever happened to the face plate? did you remove it?

jk put the tweeters in the sail panel.the massive width of the beast will help you in gettin a large sounstage.also tweeters sits at almost ear level bringing the soundstage right infront of you.
do not place them in OFF AXIS position.a slightly inward position is what i recomend.rest its all YOUR tunning and taste.
