JBL CS3110 Vs GTO637

Hi Gurus,

Since, keeping in mind of my ICE upgrade this week, I was planning to check before hand, what was inside the Car when I got it done 1.5 years back, to my surprise I thought all these days I have GTO 637 mounted in stock location of my swift. Yesterday when I opened my door panel to check the rear fills, I was surprised to see that tweeters where mounted one in Vertical fashion and on another side it was mounted in horizontal fashion. So after going through the manual, I tried to rotate the tweeter but they were not moving. So then I checked the Tweeter Level switch (0db and -3db Setting), but that was too missing. After going through the website I found that CS 3110 looks very much similar to GTO 637. But I never new that it is officially available, or I got cheated by the installer (because of my ignorance). Can anybody confirm that? And how to do rate those CS 3110 speakers when compared to GTO 637, since I would be running the rear fills from the amp (JBL GTO1004) after the upgrade.
If need be I change them to GTO 637. I will try to post the pictures tomorrow.

The 3110 is a 10" speaker much bigger than the 637.

Correction navin,
CS3110 was a 8" 3 way speaker, similar to pioneer's thali speaker.

It was never officially sold in India.

Maybe Raju-garu can explain how an 8" speaker was mounted in his Swift's rear doors, which normally take 6.5"? The model number must be wrong. Could you please post a pic?

Correction Sam,
CS3110 is a 10" 3 way speaker as indicated by Naveen ji, one which you are refering might be CS3108. which is a square model of it.

Deralte - Yeah I am not sure of the model, I am just saying that it is very much a like, since I couldn't find the attenuation button on the tweeter, I suspect that it is really GTO637. I couldn't find a screw driver in my kit so couldn't open the entire door panel. I will post the pics tomorrow and try to open the speaker also to check on the back side.

Yeah, I have checked the rear fills and found that they are JBL GTO 636E. They resemble very much similar to the GTO 637 but with out the Tweeter Attenuation switch and the rotating tweeter. It seems that some old stock was available with the installer so he has put the same in to my car. So please suggest me if I need to change this as I will not be able to direct the tweeters at the listener in the rear.

Sam, please can you confirm that they were officially sold in India, as I don't know the history of it.

Deralte: I hope the doubt is clear now. I will post the pics tomorrow.
