Car Amp solution

Gurus, I own a M800 and have the following config:

Pioneer hu 4050
pioneer 600w 4 channel amp
pioneer ts 6975 speakers( rear )
and
ts wx 301 s/w 800w
I have powered the rear speakers and sub from the amp

though i am getting a good effect and sufficient thump for an 800, i some how feel that the clarity at high volume is not unto the marks.

can upgrading to a bigger amp help?
what other reasons can there be.
even my equalizer settings are flat

The amp is not the problem. You are feeling lack of clarity due to the fact that a. all the sound comes from the back, and b. those Pio speakers are not the greatest / best.

1. Get a set of decent components (5-6K; JBL / Blaupunkt / Illusion etc.) and mount them in the front (mid-bass on front door, tweeter near A-pillar). Search the forum for other M800 installations and pics
2. Drive the components with 2 channels of the amp
3. Drive the rear speakers from HU
4. Drive the sub with the other 2 channels

Thanks for the reply DerAlte

I too feel that comps up front will help to a large extent..
only reason i'm skeptical is that whether or not my maruti's front door panels will withstand the comps without rattling too much.

but one thing though, are you sure that 6975 speakers are not good??

they have a rigid over cone woofer and are supposedly one of pioneers high power handling models...

and another thing why do u suggest driving front speakers through amp?

M-800 doors do take components with the help of a ring,You wont even need to damp it much as there is nothing to rattle inside,Your sound stage will completely change,i have compo's fitted in mine with out any prob

Please audition ICE installations in other cars and compare - you will be able to figure out the difference.

If you are driving, wouldn't you want the best sound to come from in front you?
