All that comes in the box - not possible for that to go missing since there is a designated place for everything in the box. Could be missing, but only if the vendor you bought from had opened the box and forgot to pack it back, or has given you a used or display piece. Can happen, but difficult to believe.

The wire supplied is always more than one would actually require in the usual locations. In your case, the original wire would connect to the XO input, and the wires in the box would be used from XO output to midbass and tweeter.

Next time, please open the box and check the contents before taking it to an installer.

It was a purchase from SnapDeal have to be more careful next time! :(

And as you said. I think the vendor might have taken it out for someone else just like how the installer took wire from one box and gave me!

Wait.... Just went through your post again. I think I saw the guy directly connecting the stock speaker wire to the midbass. and then 2 wires were tapped from this 2 wires to the XO-s and from there to the tweeter. Did he just screw everything up???

Vista D90 Audio Upgrade

I am planning to upgrade the audio experience in my Vista D90 ZX+. It has a blaupunkt New York HU which came as stock(pic attached) - has got BT, Navigation, etc - so I don't plan to touch it.

Currently my thought is to change the speakers, add an amp (is it needed?) and maybe a sub woofer (again - is this needed?).

The stock speakers on all 4 doors seem really bad. To start off, I plan to change them into something good and powerful. The size of the cut is 5.4", so I am restricted to find only speakers of that size (don't plan to alter anything).

Front Speakers:
[Shortlisted] HERTZ CAR COMPONENT SPEAKER DSK 130.3 - Peak W 120 Continuous W 60
[Other Option] Blaupunkt Car 5.4" Inches 2-Way Component Round Speakers-CX 130 - Rated Power : 53 WattsPeak Power : 240 Watts

Back Speakers:
[Shortlisted] Hertz ECX 130.5 Speakers - 150 Watts Peak/50 Watts
[Other Option] Hertz DCX 130.3 (DCX130.3) - W peak: 80 / W continuous: 40
[Other Option] Polk Db521 - Continuous 45 watts Peak 135 watts

Please suggest if my shortlisted ones are fine or I should check something else?

Once I am done with the above, I plan to get an amp. Below are some options I am thinking.
[Shortlisted] Sony - Xplod - XM-N1004 - 4 Channel Bridgeable Amplifier - 1000 W
[Other Option] JBL - GX-A644SI - 4 Channel Power Amplifier -1000 W
[Other Option] Blaupunkt Car 600 Watts 4 Channel Amplifier-EMA 455 - 600W
[Other Option] Blaupunkt Car 840 Watts 4 Channel Amplifier-GTA 470 SF - 840 W
[Other Option] SONY CAR AMPLIFIER XM-GS400 - 675W

Finally, the sub-woofer. I don't want to compromise the boot space - hence confused between an enclosed model and a tube model.
[Other Option] Sony - XS-NW12022E In Car Subwoofer Box
[Shortlisted] Rockford Fosgate Car Bass Tube RF-1400T

Overall, the entire shortlisted setup comes to abou 13k. I will need to spend on getting this fixed & wiring, etc - not sure how much that would come upto. Btw, the accessories above are all planned to be purchased online - so not very sure if all will work together well.

Please give your valuable suggestions.

Have you auditioned the speakers before short-listing?

* Hertz can be painfully bright (shrill) for some

* Blaupunkt is neutral sounding

* Don't buy a bass tube. Get an Infinity 1260W or a JBL sub and mount it in a sealed box. Infinity, Polk, etc. also have a pre-built subwoofer in sealed boxes, though they cost more than buying the sub and getting it mounted in a local box

* Don't buy a Sony amp. A JBL, Blaupunkt, Infinity, Kenwood, even a Pioneer, would be far better

I have picked the Sony after reading a lot of online reviews - except for the heading issue the price - value was good. But would love to know why not the Sony.

Congratulations!

Don't want to rain on your party. Enjoy good music - hope you don't get to know the "why not" anytime soon.

I have personally used the Infinity Kappa 120.9 W sub-woofer in a 1 cb.ft sealed box. It is one of the best SQ sub-woofer for the price range in which it is available.
