Swift Dzire VDI Audio Upgrade

I would like to upgrade my audio setup for swift dzire VDI, I currently have stock setup with integrated HU and speakers, I have a budget of 15K, what can be done in this budget to get better sound then stock setup, I would prefer to hold stock HU, as I like the integrated look of the dashboard.

In case you want the stock HU , you can add a pair of components up front and a 4 channel amp.

Illusion Electras would suit the bill good.
7k

For Amp , you can go for blaupunkt mk2/gt4 costs around 6-7k
Rest 1k for wiring etc.

You dont need damping as of now. You can add a sub later on and get the damping later.

Thx Abhinav! but ive placed the tweeters just above my SRVM adjusters, the installation is on its way, the car would be ready tommorow... I've got to wait for a couple days for my swift to come & swap the HU's.

This is wrong, the stock HU by Nippon has a remote trigger. I've used my amps with the HU's remote trigger. An amp upgradation is possible, its just that the sound quality is very dull, I was running my front components, it didnt sound great. The guy who installed for me said that it would work good only for an addition of a sub. Well I had it on only for a couple of days..

Hey, thx for reminding me, I almost forgot, will post some photos in a couple of days. The system sounds awesome, more than what i could ask for.

These are a few pics from my Dzire. Sorry if they are bad, was in a hurry when clicking them...

The Install

Pioneer 6950
Front - Blaupunkt Thc 662 (60W Rms, 4Ohms)
Rear - Blaupunkt Thc 662 (60W Rms, 4Ohms)
Sub - KFC-W1012 (200W Rms)
Amp (4ch) - Blaupunkt GTA4 MkII (60W X 4 @4 Ohms)
Amp (2ch) - Blaupunkt GTA2 MkII (Bridged 180W X 1 @4 0hms)

It does more than wats required. No padding done as of now, looking for options, will be doing in a few months time.

and are we talking about the car swift dzire here or is it something else as the pics you had posted are of swift

1. Pic 2: where did you source the foam cups from?
2. Pic 6: this view is confusing! Which part of the car is this? Why is a tweeter mounted outside the grill? I presume you have coax of some kind behind the grill. [Edit: A ha, you have THc components in the rear] If this is on the parcel tray, the tweeter would have been safer elsewhere - sliding objects are likely to bump into the tweeter causing damage

I got the speaker baffles from crutchfield, through my cousin from the US.

I'm really sorry for the confusion, will definitely post some better photos in a few days. Both the front and rear are the same Components Thc 662. I did face problems with the tweeter placement of the rear, I rather felt that i wouldn't be necessary pulling around wires here n there. anyways thanks for the advice.

Upgraded my HU

Its been a while.. since i've posted, recently ive made some upgradations to my HU. Ive changed my Pioneer to an Alpine 9887 and its worth every bit I paid for it.

The sound feels really clear espicially the mids and highs. The sub is not boomy as before, but different beats can be felt....

Been tuning for a while with the Time Correction parameters, anyone with alpine experience plz do shine some light on me.. on wat to do and how to go abt with it..

thx..

Guys Ive posted this in another thread before but posting it here again as I havent been able to decide.

Dzire Lxi is what I have booked. I am okay with the JVC XG 706 that maruti provides as an OPTIONAL accessory. Okay with JVC round speakers in the front and rear as well. Other options are Sony and Kenwood.

However I am a music lover and music is very important in the car for me. Dealer is charging me 3k more for the JVC HU and so we may be getting installed it from a local store.

Now as it is ill be getting it installed from elsewhere, I have an opportunity to get a system which is really decent. My budget can be stretched upto 15k for HU + Speakers.

So now, should I go for JVC HU and some better speakers or some better HU and speakers both... Im not sure. Please recommend guys. Oh yes, I want a 2 din HU instead of 1din. It looks better.

Dzire Ice Upgrade -- Need Guidence

Hi Friends,

I have kicked off a project to upgrade ICE on my new Dzire and really need your suggestions on this.

Altough i have tons of questions, i will try and limit myself here
  • Is there a way to control iPOD from stock HU in Dzire VDI?
  • If i want to replace HU, are there any good Double DIN HU with removable faceplates available under 10K?
  • How much would a decent 4 ch amp(JBL/Kenwood) hurt my pocket.
  • Are there any good installers/dealers in north delhi?
  • Is it worth paying vivist to audio shops in karol bagh?
I am sure many of these questions may have been answered in various threads, but it would great if you can enlighten me on these again.

Thanks,
i_m_Anaconda
