Guys, nee your inputs for a simple budget Music system for Safari. dont need any fancy stuff just a good HU along with some nice 4 Speakers.

Please advise.

You have to check this thread first: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/ask-gu...k-25k-30k.html

If you want something more specific even after that, you have to post about your budget limit, listening preferences, choice of brands etc..

I am not a boom-boom person. I love blues and oldies both english and hindi, with occasional new songs . What i want is not very high sound but quality sound. My budget would be around 15K.

I would prefer some nice speakers which deliver quality sound rather than quantity sound.

Please advise .

Are you self Driven or Chauffer Driven.?

Well abhinav, he seems like a pretty hands-on guy. lol

Truely Justifying the name.

I guess get a good HU (Pioneer) , a good components for the front ( like illusion ) and a good pair of Coaxs for the rear ( JBL)
Will be good enough for your not boom boom type listening

even when i started searching for a simple ICE for my dads car, i had gone thru this thread. as hands-on mentioned there are lot of choices for boom-boom type listeners. but for a shoe string budget ICEing only few suggestions. it would be very helpful for many newbies, if there are more choices of basic HUs, speakers discussed.

15k including the HU? I guess so.

HU: Pioneer 3050
Front: 6.5" component speakers (Illusion audio, Bull audio, JBL).
Rear: 6.5" coaxial speakers of the same make and series as front components.

Thanks but yes i am pretty hands on and like to drive my own vehical. I am also proud that i have been able to get out of most of the ugly senarios on the road without much help. Thanks to my dad for that .

Check out Driven at East of kailash .. Weekends coming up.. You can bump into Gunbir/Autophile our resident gurus there if you are lucky. They can help you plan installs for every budget.

Safari's cabin volume presents some challenges. A setup that sounds pretty decent in some other car, sounds anemic in Safari. So, do include an amp and a sub. I am speaking from first hand experience.

If you try to box a 6x9, it would have a lot of boom. I personally didn't like it. I've realized that you need good clean bass to enjoy almost any kind of music.

My suggestion would be:
- Comps in the front. The weird thing is that Safari's slot takes a 6" speaker, which is not a commonly found size.
- Coax in the rear.
- 4 ch amp
- A decent sub.

I don't know how much would this cost. Maybe 20K...

a sample budget.
comps: 6K+
coax: 4K+
4 ch amp: 6K+
sub: 5K+ (with box)
damping: 4-5K
wires: 2-3K
