Mr. Kevin Prasad (A.K.A Getzwalla FreeDabad mallu/maaaain) spent his Diwali listening to Red FM. Bajaate raho!

The setup is perfect now. No need for rear fills as hardly anybody sits there. Just get a 1 cu ft or smaller sealed box for the sub now. A better amp can be added later.

It's not for the rear passengers, just for the continuity of music from the front compos to the sub at the rear. I don't know how your system is tuned, but i have felt this gap between the sub & the front sound stage in many cars, I could be wrong though. A pair of rounds with good mid range would do.

@e_l, for a driver + front passenger, front + sub gives the best soundstage when set up well. Mid-to-high frequencies will pull the sound backward. The rear passengers will go nuts, though

It is a bit difficult to describe the experience, it has to be felt. Once you try it, you'll be happiest with it (as long as you do not have rear passengers who also want to enjoy the music). My wife travels with me in the front passenger seat all the time, and she's never felt that there was anything lacking (I run a front + sub setup). She had to sit in the back one day, and that's when she figured out there were no speakers in the back.

EL it all depends on the tuning part of the install. If tuned properly the sub playing in the back should be in the front or sync/blend with the front midbass.

Like Navin Ji said the presence of the sub is important.

Is this the same for a sedan as well as a hatch ? because when i cut off my rears, i can hear the sub distinctly. But a little bit of the rears (say 10%) gives a better mix. Probably as hydra says, it kind of pulls the sound a tad back, but not much.

Congrats

Sorry for the late wishes but, congrats kpgetz for your new ICE setup, It looks really cool!!

@esteem_lover :: I guess your sub might be very powerful which makes the sound distinct. I think for a hatch this setup should work fine, and the hatchback's would be better than sedans to ICE. Almost all ICE demo cars I have seen is a hatch!! Donno why.

Does the HU have TA? TA helps to get the sub to sound like it was coming from the front.

The sub box is good. KP is happy with it. So no plans to change it for now. Even Sam Bhai has approved it
