For hip-hop etc. the best would be a sub tube like a JBL 12"er. Mount it right on top of the LPG cylinder. Drive it with a bridged 2-channel amp with decent power output.

assuming 6K for the amp and 6K for a sub with a box that leave 3K for the rear Speakers.

Very frankly, the best option for you is JBL.
Go for a GT5 12" in a ported box.

Get any 2channel amp from JBL which will fit your budget. Will power the sub adequately.

Get the GT5 coaxial speakers for rear. Comes below 3k.

Where are you getting this installed? Which part of Delhi?

@ speedzak : The shop guy from whome i bought the HU said that JBL amps are having complaints and they have replaced 3 units in last 7 days due to some capacitor problems,Have you heard anything like this? Which other brands are available and are good?

Also i am looking for a good place for installation. I live in Rohini.

3 amps replaced in 7 days?
Seems like you've got to change your shop. ;-)
Not that it is impossible, but something very strange and rare.

Check out some brands at a reputed accessories shop. That will give you a better idea.

Who is Rohini? :
I know of Driven @ GK. Nice shop with good installers and stocks almost every good brands.

Is your dealer having problems with JBL's amp or just the margins he is making on them?

What capacitor is he talking about?

Anky,

You sure can go for Ground Zero 12 inch sub and would cost u around 6.5K and then a Kendwood 4 channel amp. You could check for JBL coaxial rear speakers. I have heard from most of the people that JBL are really loud...Navin ji or Speedzak can throw some light on the same and Rohini is a place in delhi @ speedzak.

I would strongly recommend not to go for local assembled AMP as they are real pain.

Regards,
Chetan

Many speakers can play loud. I think you have misuderstood bright for loud. JBL (esp the older 636/936 etc..) series were voiced for rock and hence brighter than many other speakers. The GT5 and newer JBLs are a bit tamer. THis is purely a matter of listening tastes. Harman (JBL parent company) for example also makes a range of speakers (read as Infinity) that are not as bright as their JBLs.
