Newbie needs Guru's directions in selecting DVD + USB Head Unit :)

Hello Fellas,

I am planning to get a new Head Unit Today for my Esteem Vxi 2001. My budget is 10k( Max 12k Managed to get Extra 2k from my Grandma ). I am totaly newbie in every aspect when it comes to cars.

Before posting this query i used search thread but failed to find what i needed.

1) I have an LCD screen fitted in roof between front seat's headrest to avoid driver's distraction. Is this legal?

2) I want a Head Unit with DVD and USB compatibilty.I checked Pioneer's India Website and there two models with same code 6050. I saw lots of threads with 6050 mentioned but nothing mentioned about video capabilities.

3)I want to upgrade all the setup turn by turn. So i am planning to get a decent HU only as of now. Will do the Amps and SPeakrs next month.

4)When you say Head Unit. Does it mean the complete kit or just the plate like thing which fixes on the body of music system. Please Pardon my Ignorence

Thanks in advance for all you valuable replys. :-)

1 - There is a thread about ban of LCD screens in Delhi

2- AVH-P6050DVD has DVD & USB

4- HU is the whole unit, you need to change the whole thing

Hello Again,
I was going through the online manual of the model and came to know that it supports bluetooth module. Also the remote has buttons to pick up and End calls.

Can some1 please put on some light on how can i connect my Nokia N958gb with it.. It is the same as i connect my phone to Bluethooth adpapter of my PC?.

Do i need any hardware?.. If yes ..then how much extra will it cost?

Thanks again

Read the manual dude. If you dont need any additional hardware, you just need to pair it with the HU. Otherwise you would need to buy a additional hardware JVC adapter.

Your HU supports the use of a bluetooth module. Now you need to get one to connect your Phone.

It's very clear. It supports a bluetooth module.
Meaning you have to buy the bluetooth adapter/module designed for these HUs. You can check in the accessories section of JVC website.

Congrats on your HU. Did you get the amps and speakers as well?

You need a Bluetooth Adapter from JVC itself (KS-BTA200) to connect your mobile phone. That will enable you to take calls using the HU.
