Music System for $300

Hi BHP
I got one of my relatives visiting me from the US in a short while.

I'm planning to get a new car in the next 2 mths time and with that a definite buy is a good music system.

I'm at my wits end as there are so many options.

I've been using pioneer keh-8450 for a couple of years and must say have been more than satisfied...but i surely would like to consider some other brands if whats offered is better.

I'm looking to get an mp3 player and budget is $300 approx(keep in mind the system will be purcahsed from the US)...Plz suggest a couple of good choices.

these systems are more expensive in the U.S,. it would be best to buy an alpine or rockford head unit of one of the websites which will be at a throwaway price compared to india.
check these out on any of the sites:
1. alpine
2.clarion
3.rockford fosgate
4.nakamichi
try this site for indicative prices:
www.woofersetc.com

or if keen on pioneer buy ti from india and get one good american amplifier from there. get a good 4 channel for around 200-300$

Check out www.sounddomain.com

They have lots of deals at throw away prices. You can get head units at almost similar prices here also. Try for some good speakers or amplifiers. If you already have a good setup, then try to get a equalizer or Basslogic.

i shope from crutchfield. excellent service and knowledgeable people there.
I'd suggest the Alpine is you want MP3 or Nak if you can do without MP3. Crutchfiled does not carry Nak so get you Nak gear from zalmar, online car stereo or electronics bonanza.

The Alpine 9830 is for $250. I have it in my wife's car and is a great place to start. later u can add a small active sub and add a Alpine 240 amp (40x4).

Nak is sort of expensive but oh so sophisticated! the only model you can fit under $300 is the CD 400.

beside these 2 brands certain models of Sony and JVC are also worth recomending.
Sony's 7815 or JVC's Arsenal 960 for example.

BTW what speaker you got?

Nak is available here: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=13364

I too recommend the 9830, awesome piece even on the ****ty paper cone stock spkrs.

My order of a HU selection would be

1. Eclipse
2. Alpine
3. Pioneer

Currently planning for a front component stage. Have the amp , but waiting for the speakers...both from edesign
