Help, need advice on Ice upgrade !

Hi guys, lookikng for advice before going ahead and short-listing some speakers and amp for my ice upgrade. I listen to mainly Hip hop and trance.

Currently have Infinity Ref1240se sub and 1600a amp in my esteem with a decent Pio HU (with basic cables) and need some advice on the following:

1) Should I stick with Infinity and go for the Kappa series and another Infinity Amp for optimum performance?

2) After going thru the site I have decided against Soundstream and JL Audio. Now considering Boston or Hertz, any other suggestions to match my current Infinity setup ?

3) Recommended cables ?

Awaiting your valuable advice,

Cheers !

What speakers do you have now?
Are you planning to purchase a mono amp?
Are you planning to upgrade the sub too?
What's the budget limit?

Why would I need a mono amp for the speakers ?? Have the Infinity 1600a for my Infinity sub, need an amp to drive the speakers. Heard that the best VFM option is to have a 2 channel for components up front and run the rear thru the HU.
(Currently have a full Pio front and rear speaker setup that came with the car, they are old and need to be upgraded to match my amp and sub.)

Do you guys agree ? Or would it be better to pick up a 4 channel for both the front and rear speakers ?

Budget is not really a prob but prefer to have VFM, spend wisely and save money for a paint job.

If you are satisfied with sub and its amp, leave that. As you said, the baudget/VFM option is to go for good set of comps for front, driven with a 2 ch amp and drive the rear co-axs by HU. Look for 6-6.5" comps from JBL/Illusion/Bull audio/Hertz etc and a 2 ch amp (again JBL, Blau, Kenwood etc). Spend some for good RCA cables, speaker wire, power and installation also.

Yep go for a 4ch. If you look at prices the stretch for a 4-channel is well worth it since it gives you options in the future as well as resale value.

Priority should be for front components.

You have asked about getting another infinity amp, they are more SQ oriented than the other stuff in the market. Try to audition if you can.

So expect something like this :

Front Comps : JBL/illusion = 6k
Amp : Infinity 475a (12.5k) or JBL 1004/604 or Kenwood 8401 (6-9k)
Wiring/Install : 3k

Any upgrade would show remarkable improvement over your current speaker setup so try to audition multiple and varied setups before you finalize.

I would suggest you to pick up a 4channel amp. Use it to power all your speakers and switch off the internal power IC of the HU.
You can choose from a JBL or a Kenwood or a Blau. Kenwood 8401 is a good bang for the buck!
For speakers, I'd recommend Rainbow SLX series of components and coaxials. I run a similar setup, that is Infinity sub + rainbow compos. I love the sound.

Any idea on the costings of the above ?

I would suggest to pick up a Kenwood 8401. Its a 4ch amp and you can run the front comps and the rear speakers off that. Get Bull Audio comps for the front if you're not trying to stretch your budget or if you want something even better get the rainbow comps. For the rear you can get Hertz co-axials. The Kenwood plus the Bull plus the Hertz should cost you about 15k plus another 3k for wiring and install.

Wiring?

Which would be the best wiring for the speakers and the sub - 4ch and mono, under 1- 1.5k available in Delhi?
