How does a damping help in a car which doesnt require it?

Is it for a tight bass or something like that?

^^

All cars benefit from damping. Some may require lesser than others, and parts of the car that need attention may vary. But no car is built with the steel gauge of a tank.

Abhinav
It depends on the type of setup installed. For a basic setup with 6" coaxial in fronts, no kind of damping is required in Getz but if there are Electras or some other powerful compos powered by amp then of course u need damping for better sound (if u want that bass punch).
In comparison to Swift, of course Getz needs less amount of damping. Please understand this is just a comparison not a thumb rule.

IMO for the kind of equipment installed in sam's getz any car would require damping.

Not commenting upon experiences here, I had a misconception like this for TATA vehicles.. sadly my Ground Zero subs ripped them off!

panky, I think Sam was just being nutty. Almost every car I know can benefit from damping from the humble Maruti 800 to the rather well built Hummer. The degree of damping might defer but damping is damping nonetheless.
