If you want to do it, run a single 2 gauge wire, a distribution block and then split it to both amplifiers.

I would recommend car audio cable, but if you end up using Polycab 25 sqmm (which is 4 AWG) the mono amplifier should work fine. Use the same wire to chassis for grounding too. Its a decent compromise.
I have tried to source the wiring kits here in chennai, it's a bit hard getting them here. There are a few available but they are awfully expensive, The same Kicker Kit which Manan has used costs 16K - 18K here. I'm trying my best to get some good qulaity wire, if not i'm going ahead with the install taking the above advice into considration.

I will say buy kicker 0 gauge wiring kit if it is expensive in chennei you can source it from delhi or can contact the importer for the same preeti trading company they are based in mumbai and are the importers for kicker products in India.

Going for 4 gauge will almost cost you the same, 4990 x 2 = 9980/= and kicker will cost you 12.8k this kit contains 2d.blocks/remote wire/2x5 feet 4 gauge wire from d.blocks till the amps/connectors/fuse holder/300A fuse.

Guys wait a min, those in the know will slide past the actual question which I asked...

I know that one can run two separate power kits to both amps. However my question was not targeted at the possibility of such an install, but the pros and cons of

1) Single power wire using distribution block to power 2 amps
VS
2) Two separate wire kits for each amp.

Sam hinted that the 2nd option was better for some reason. I would like to know more about that. [Details please]

Thanks,
DocG

I guess its a single amplifier kit.
You can contact LBM/Bass&Trouble/Smokin via PM for the same.

that kicker 0 gauge which i mentioned is a dual amp wiring kit, and the amps kits which abhinav mentioned are for 1 amp but you can buy extra cables/distribution blocks for hooking up the second amplifier, gz kits contains one rca/main wire/ground wire/fuse+holder/speaker wire.

here is the link for kicker importers Welcome to Preeti Trading Corpn.

Branded wiring I would suggest would be

1) Kicker
2) Streetwire
3) Stinger
4) Monster

I don't have any experience with GZ wiring but from what I've seen (internationally), Kicker makes the best wiring kits. See if you can source any of these in Chennai, else one of us BHPians can help you out by sourcing it in our city and send it to you.

Cheers,
DocG

[Someone please answer the query above, I think that it would go a long way in helping others decide upon wiring]

YA you can go with scosche if you already have one with you, if buying a new set will say buy some good rca cable like audison/monster/stinger. you can get stinger cables from PTC (preeti trading) itself they also do stinger in india.

edit: correction it is PTC (preeti trading corp. )

Another twist

I the process of getting a good branded amp wiring kit I enquired many people about this. I almost decided on getting the kicker. But now I've come to know that a Scoche kit E3200 is available here.

e2 E3200 by Scosche 4 Gauge Amplifier Wiring Kits Amplifier Installation Car Accessories and Installation Car Audio and Video - Sonic Electronix

I did a comparison and I feel the Scoche kit is much more VFM, I like the accessories (Battery terminals, D.Block, etc) in this kit. it also comes with a 4 channel RCA, I aint sure about the quality of this though. The price diffrence between the scoche & kicker is not much. Agian i have to ask you guys which one to decide.

Here is kicker's link Kicker PKD1 0-2 Gauge Amplifier Wiring Kits Amplifier Installation Car Accessories and Installation Car Audio and Video - Sonic Electronix
