Now on the amplifier hunt, something which gives 500-600 RMS at 2 ohms

It's a 12" IDQ V2, Budget was a constraint. I'm hoping this would be enough for me.

Well i have nothing fixed until now, looking for various options. I'm looking for an amp which would match the CA470, How about the 1600a from infinity?

Congrats on a very good purchase. The iDQ's musical capabilities are unmatched in the price bracket of the sub.

What Amp are you planning?? Also I hope this goes in a sealed enclosure.

Thanks, Yes it goes into a sealed enclosure. For the amp i'm open for some suggestions, I dont have a clear idea what will go well in my setup and with this subwoofer.

Great buy, sathee46! Make the (sealed) enclosure so it is between 0.75 to 0.90 cu.ft. and feed it with amp rated at 280 to 300w RMS or more. You'll love the way it supports the rest of your setup.

Is this a D2 or a D4?

It's a D4, my budget is 20 - 25K can be a extended a bit more if it's really worth. The only amp which i have in my mind now is the 1600a from infinity (It falls in my budget ). I do not want to compromise on the amp and definitely i cant afford a future upgrade. Let your suggestions flow in!!

D4 => 2 ohm

Alpine MRP M500 (500W at 2)
Alpine MRP M1000 (phew!)

The 1600A will put out 600w at 2 ohms, according to the specs at Crutchfield. That looks really good. Guess you want to keep the ICE all in the same family huh?

As JK said, since you have a D4, you'll be wiring it to present a 2 ohm load to the amp. 600w to the IDQ will rock! No use pushing any more to it anyway. With this much power, I'd suggest a 0.75 cu.ft. sealed box itself. IMHO the sub will sound the best that way.
