ICE for LANCER

Dear All,

I have been trying to figure out what would be the best setup for my Lancer which I would be able to get for 30K. The budget is stretchable but I am not so crazy about the ICE setup. The most of the music played would be rock.

I have been convinced by many to go for a Pio HU and then JBL all the way. I would like some more specific suggestions from the experts on this forum. WIth some price break ups may be if possible.

If a woofer can be included in this budget my only concern would be I do not want it to be in the boot, it has to be on the rear parcel shelf.

Cheers
Indra

1. Pio HU - 6000 to 9000
2. Front Illusion Electra 6.1 components - 6990
3. Rear Fills JBL GTO937 - 2800 to 3000
4. 4 CHannel Amp - JBL GTO1004 - 10000
5. Sub Woofer - JBL - 5000 to 6000
6. Wiring Approx 2500

Total : Rs. 33290 to 36490

The prices are approximately grey prices in Kolkata barring the Illusion Compo.
For the Illusion Component , Hail B&T.

My 50 cents - The Sub woofer without the "Dabba" is not the best idea. But you need boot space.
@Gurus : Any suggestions for alternate ways of installing other than free air install.

We'll see

JBL CS1204 sub should be around 3K. Not sure if it's suited for free air installs.
You'll need to factor in probably around 1K for a decent parcel tray - that can take a sub-install.
Get the front doors damped. Makes a significant difference. Add another 2K.

But try and listen to some of our setups and then work out the combinations. If you visit sector V, you should be able to listen to 3-4 setups any given day.

Xeta thanks for your input. The HU is already inside - Pioneer 6050UB Rs.9350 with B/W. Since you are not suggesting a sub without a dabba, which also Razor was against when I spoke to him while I was in town. I guess I will just go for good front components coupled with good rear fillers and the amp. See if I am satisfied with it. Sub can be thrown in at any given time.

I will contact B&T and see if I can have the front comps shipped to Kolkata before I arrive.

Shuvc I already was shortly at Sec V and heard Razors set up. I know Xeta is also there as I met him, looks like Sec V has a decent tbhp population.

What's to contact and see? If you say, I will ship. I'm not that picky about customers.

My Suggestions
Leave the rear fills

go for Pio HU - around 8/9k - 6050
Illusion 6.1 - 7k ( almost)
JBL GTO 1004 - 10k ( I'm using it for powering only the illusions
JBL CS1204 around 3k ( as shuvc mentioned - I'm not sure about price)

Custom Enclosure ( Maybe something like http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sound-...bmw-ice-d.html ) - 2k i guess
Wiring etc. 2k
Total around 33k!

I doubt JBL CS series woofers come THAT cheap.
You might get a JBL GT-5 in that price range.
What i would suggest you do is put in front compos, rear 6x9s and an amp. add the sub later.

Certainly its a very good idea to get it installed this way but where in our calcutta would you get a good installer who can do such good work???

I would even suggest a Front compo+Sub setup, nothing to beat that.
You can consider a 1cu.ft sealed enclosure, wont take much boot space.
@XetaGLGRocks-10k for the 1004 must be grey market prices, isnt it?

You already have the HU or got it installed?

If yes, is the rest 30k still available?

GT5-12 is costlier than CS1204 and 1205.

CS1204 last price (gray) - Rs. 2000
CS1205 (gray) - Rs. 2300 - 2500
