AUX-in to USB cable?

Mods...Please place this in appropriate thread. I didn’t find one..

I’ve a Pio 6050 HU in my car which doesn’t have a UBS facility.
Is there any AUX-IN to USB connecter where I can connect the USB and dump all my 8GB song in the drive..
I’ve googling in net for this cable for almost a year, but in vain.

I know there is a pio device which supports that, but that’s costing a bomb shell-almost 6 to 7K

What do you want to connect to the head unit using the "AUX-IN to USB Connector"? And on what does all your "8GB of songs" reside and where do you want to dump it?

if you have a ipod, just connect that to the aux.
if you plan to use a normal portable hard drive, where would you suck the power from?

I think Ramsagar wants a cable with a USB thumbdrive on one end, and an EP-Jack (3.5mm) on the other end, with the EP-Jack to be plugged into the aux-in socket of the HU, so the HU can read data off the USB thumbrive.

I don't think such a cable exists.

Ramsagar the best cheapest alternative is to get the FM Transmitter which is powered by the 12v socket and can read USB drives. Comes with a remote too i guess.

Costs mere around 400 bucks.

An AUX-in cable has analog signals and a USB has digital signals. How can you expect to convert these without an active device? (read - one without a power supply)

No wonder the PIO device which you have found googling will cost you a bomb. Buy an mp-3 player and use it with an AUX cable. That I think would be the cheapest solution.

If it is a PIO DEH-P6050UB then it has USB 2.0 and is a good feature packed HU. The USB port will be at rear of HU (my 4050 is so) and you will get an extender cable, which you need to plug it on HU USB port and the other end popping out to your glove box or space below HU.
