Can somebody let me know if JBL GTO 755.6 is available in Mumbai now? I am still waiting for my 5 channel to come from USA and it seems like a long wait.

ALpine PDX5 is the smallest 5 channel amp other than the 'audiophile' ones like Brax.

I would love to have a PDX5 but Alpine PDX5 at 10-1/8"L x 7-9/16"W x 2-7/16"H is too thick for the gap i have between seat and gas tank. its also costing me double the price compared to THA555pnp.

A 2 channel amp would only have 2 channels, in other words it can run a pair of speakers or can be bridged to run a sub, not both.

If budget is limited you can do both together. connect the components to each channel and connect the sub to terminals marked for mono, "+" of one channel and "-" of other channel. check if it is allowed on the amplifier.

Tri-Mode Speaker Connection

Trimode Amplifier Bridging

given that we cant post pictures here these 2 links should help. Amps that are Tri-Mode capable normally have to be able to deliver more current and operate.

Check out the JL audio's Slash sereis 5 Channel. it has variable frequency adjustment with differential power rating for front stage and rear st age.

Makes sense when you wish to have 2 Compos (front)+ 2 Coax (rear) + 1 sub setups

Not advisable unless the amp can handle really low loads. If anyone is doing tri-mode, always use a passive crossover for the sub and speakers.

Re: Which 5 channel Amplifier?

Bumping up a really old thread. What's the scene on 5 channel amps currently? I am planning to go active, and hence looking for one. What are my options? My budget is not very expansive.
