Hi - Need of some serious help here.
I have a 2004 Corolla, with a factory HU 6 CD changer and JBL rear 6 x 9 speakers. Has factory tweeters and front door speakers as well.
I would like to improve the sound quality to a decent level, without spending too much (read: INR 10000 - 12000). I was thinking of a new HU Pioneer 6050 but the damn enclosure plastic frame costs 6200 rupees to make the opening the same size, and I hate to pay that much.
I was thinking of a 2 channel amplifier to improve the quality of sound but my HU doesnt have line level inputs.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Regards
Abhishek

Many thanks Navin. Which amp do you suggest? There are people who say that a speaker level input amp adds a lot of noise, etc...whats your suggestion on that ?
Getting confusedplease:please:
IMO, while you're at it, get the HU changed too. You have been quoted a very high price for the Corolla Adapter. It should not be more than Rs. 2500/-
From where do you have asked the corolla adapter cost ?

Many thanks buddy. Absolutely - 2500 I am willing to pay. I am in Gurgaon, I think I need to visit Delhi to get the competitive prices. What say? Yaha pe toh loot macha rakhi hai.
Thanks anyways. Whats your advice on the quality from an amp which takes speaker level inputs?

If you change the head unit you dont need to worry about amps with speaker level inputs or their disadvantages. All aftermarket head units have pre-outs. The Pioneer will also be better sounding than the OE head unit.
Anyway, you are considering FH-P6050UB, DEH-P6050UB or DVH-P6050UB?

Thanks - I am considering the FH P6050. However the inly issue coming is the adapter cost. Everyone in Delhi appears to be in a rip-off mode ! Or maybe I am going to the wrong set of people.
Abhishek, I am quite sure the last time we used the Toyota DIN adapter kit it cost less than Rs 600.

Ouch ! Seems to be some serious problem in the market. Please let me know where you procured it from, so that I can get it from the same enterprise :)
Thanks Gunbir !
