If you dont buy them through india distributor it will be cheaper (alternative is to buy it online, get someone to buy it for you abroad etc) Not saying that we must do that, just laying out options.

Got the contact no. of the person dealing in Focals/MTX/Morel/DLS in Delhi from the Distributor in India.
He quoted the price for Focal components to be Rs. 16k (B&W).

Which would for approx 6-8k in the world market. The above brands are done by PTC and they are very good in over pricing. I have a DLS iridium 6.3 with me which costs approx 78k in India but I got it for less than 50k with 12k customs and 8k shipping inclusive (and I still have the receipts of the same)

That's interesting cuz we never sold him anything, specifically no Audison amps! Since we were the only distributor for Audison in India so far, you can be certain they were gray market.

It may be possible other stuff he carries may be gray also. Many dealers try to sell off gray stuff at B&W prices, and most successfully manage to.

he import lots of stuff from US and all so could be possible he got 1-2 audison amps to keep his collar up in local market.

I dont know what collar will he keep up in the market. His installers don't even connect both the coils of the DVC sub. Whats the use of keeping high end equipment when you cant even install them properly.

Classic example:
I was hunting temporary sub in August. Went to him and checked out some subs. Zeroed down to JBL sub and told him i will use it in sealed enclosure. Showed his installer the enclosure and he says "isme ched toh hai nahin" No hole or port in sub (by whole they mean slot port).

Last but no the least the guy has a major attitude problem. I won't mind getting into audio business and opening a shop next to him just to see the look on his face!

@quickdraw i have heard some DLS compos. I don't know the price for sure. They were around 12k MRP they sounded good. But my tastes have changed a lot since then

A dealer in Lajpat Nagar quoted Rs. 8k for entry level DLS components with B&W.
@abhibh - How are DLS you heard in comparison to your Rainbow?

World apart. Cannot be compared. Rainbow beats them hand down. Even the new Hertz / Bull beats them hand down.

But then again everyone has different music tastes.
