With the passing of every single day and every single car ride, it becomes more and more certain to me that I need a BT solution in my car. Talking on the phone, even with loudspeaker is dangerous. (And while some people say that talking even with a BT HU would be dangerous, I am willing to bet it's a looooot less so).

So are there any new products coming out in 2009 that are excellent BT options? I am tired of waiting for the mythical parrot RK8200.

I guess Pioneer , Alpine has some BT enabled HUs offered .
If not officially, then through the grey market.

I was once dead set on a clarion unit with Bluetooth and SD card reader. seemed awesome for the use. Comes with all accessories. I think its FB276BT or something. check that out.

Also JVC had a BT-1 model. Dont know if they refreshed it.

If you are not looking to spend much, Sony has Bluetooth models too.

I'm using a Pioneer FH-P8000BT (double DIN). The integrated bluetooth is excellent (no echo, and people I'm talking to cant even tell that I'm not using my handset). It also integrates your phonebook very well and is easy to use.

Lots of studies have come out recently saying that even using a handsfree device is a distraction for drivers. From my own experience I find that hard to believe... its only just as distracting as talking to passengers, perhaps even less so because sometimes you turn away from the road to look at the passenger you're talking to.
