sub recommendation for my swift's ICE setup

Dear Gurus,

I am planning to add the final missing element to my Swift's ICE in the near future - a subwoofer. Given the current economy, I cannot stretch my budget and my requirement is that I need a decent sounding sub at the lowest possible price (A few thousand rupees budget) that will "GEL" well with my current ICE setup that includes:

Eclipse CD3200 HU
Illusion Audio Electra 6.5 components in front
Hertz Dieci 6x9 ovals in the rear parcel tray
JBL GT5-A604 amp

Once the sub is added, I am planning to drive the front components and the sub using the JBL amp.

I heard that the bass tube does not offer qualty sound and hence I did not consider it. I am open to different options, but currently eyeing the Rs.2000 odd 12" JBL sub from grey and a decent custom made enclosure for this.

Also, If there is a quality alternative for 12" sub to save the cramped swift's boot space, it will be great. Last but not least, if you feel that the addition of a subwoofer at this kind of price range is not advisable, I am even ready to drop this whole idea.

Request your opinions asap.

- SKB.

It is possible. 3k will get you the jbl 1205 sub and a decent enclosure. It will complement your system well and will make a huge difference. Its a right thing to power the components and the sub with the amp and leave the rear fills at the mercy of the head unit, which in fact is a good unit. The whole package will sound complete.

I suggest you wait for sometime and add another 2k or so to your budget. Get the sub mentioned above or the 10" version of it. Make a good sealed/ported box according to your listening taste.

10" sub will allow you to keep the box smaller than the 12" one. Sealed box will be smaller than the ported one.

If I can get the cs1205 now in a sealed enclosure (grey stuff) in my budget as frank mentioned, should I still wait. I guess the 10" one is not available in grey now, and I have to probably wait if I opt for that. any suggestions ?

I would suggest you "go ahead" with the sub as mentioned by frank in a sealed enclosure its a complete VFM,as its matches well with the JBL amp you are running.

If you are getting it done from blueraven no need to worry about anything. He will take care of everything.

Last week I went for Sub Woofer Hunt. Shopkeeper is saying that there is almost no new product with warranty as new product is getting launch. There is also no 10 inch Sub. Every thing is 12",
By the way what is that blueraven ?

Got GT5-10 installed

I got the GT5-10 sub installed yesterday at EVO. It sounds pretty nice and occupies very little space - have placed it in the left corner of the boot sideways to save the space.

Thanks for all the inputs.
