Need help - Music system for Elantra CRDi

Hi mates,

Just booked an Elantra CRDi for myself, need some urgent advice for the ICE setup.
Car has OEM setup currently.Need a good setup for around 30k,including front components, rear speakers,a good sub and amp to drive the sub and the fronts.Wiring and damping as well.It would be great if someone could suggest me the names and prices for all these.Would the standard 2 DIN HU of the Elantra be good enough or should I replace that too?In that case of course it may go over budget but still some options with prices here too would be nice.I don't need a DVD player, just an Mp3 player will do.If I am replacing the HU it would have to be a double DIN as I don't want any unseemly gaps.

And finally, please share the names of some good(read knowledgeable) installers in Mumbai as well, from Bandra to Andheri

Thanks a ton in advance guys.

please change the horrible HU that comes stock on the car. it dosent even play mp3s. you can get a decent double din HU from about 15k upwards.

OT - what do you mean you booked an elantra crdi? they stopped making them a while back i think.

Hey Akshay,I had the same thought, the standard HU is not good.Guess I'll have to revise my budget upwards

OT- What I meant was,I have made the down payment on a used one, will be getting delivery in 3 weeks as the owner is waiting for his Transform CRDi to arrive

PS- Any knowledgeable installers you know in Mumbai?

aah ok.

well i normally go to bharat audio in worli naka. in the same line as the audi showroom. even a few other bhpians like GTO and navin go there.

ive also heard about boom audio just off carters in bandra.

edit - also ramie2400 has his shop at mira road and bass and trouble at parel.

For installations in mumbai you can contact t-bhp members ramie2400,or Bass & Trouble.
For double DIN HU you can look at the kenwood range, they make some good head units.

Have a look at the FH-P8000BT from pioneer, its a good HU and you can get it for 12-15k in the grey market.
Pioneer USA - CD Receivers
It is the best Double Din at this price and has 3 pre-outs

Why do you want to go for a double-din HU only? Is Bluetooth a must-have feature? If not, a single-din player will do everything that the double-din can at a lower price. The saving can always be used for better equipment elsewhere.

Hey B&T,

The only reason I want to go for a 2 DIN is because that is whats stock on the Elantra.A single DIN would lead to an unsightly gap in the dash
and I really don't want that
I agree that bluetooth is not essential for me and the saving can probably pay for a good amp / sub but what else can I do?

@B&T

Hmmm, not bad actually.Still not sure about how that will fit in with the overall look of the Elantra's interiors though.Have you done anything like this on an Elantra mate?
OT-Do you do audio installs yourself?

An Elantra wont be very far off from this. Don't have any pics of it unfortunately.

Yes, we do a few installs.
