GTO 75.4 Power Up issue

Hi Gurus,

There is peculiar problem faced by me on my GTO 75.4 amp.

The main issue is as soon as I power my audio system, a cracking sound comes up from the components. some thing like "Tick Tick".

When I opened up the boot i found that when the system is powered on the Amp goes to the Safe mode (Red Led lights up) for a moment and then resets to blue (normal). The same time the cracking sound comes out.

This occasionaly happens when I power off also.

What could be the reason?

Other than this I dont see any other issues with the performance of the amp.

Help Gurus??

I had the same problem with my earlier 75.4. Luckily I had the problem almost immediately after installing it so I got it replaced. I am not sure what the problem is.

I ran into the same issue some months back with my replacement 75.4 but that issue was sorted out by itself after 2-3 hours of not using the amp.

It can be of the terminations also. Check out the places where you have connected the power cables.

Will check out the power wiring and let you know.

Is it normal for the JBL amps to go on to the safe mode during the initial power up (red LED) and then switch to the normal mode ??

Hi nandan,

I have got a gt5 A604 amp by JBL, while it gets switched on, the red LED lights up for a few moments and then the green LED turns on. I guess it is a normal process.

But for the noise you are getting, thats something different. Maybe you have set your gains way to high..

Check for loose connections.. The culprit could very well be the Ground Wire.. Relocate it such that it has good contact with the metal part of the chasis..
