947's are very much available and the 937 has been updated and is known as 938 now and they too are available.
You can go fr the 608C. They are quite decent.
Had them installed in a friends car, but they couldnt take the power from the 1004 and the coil burnt.
Yep 10K is in grey.

Huh? Was that system being used for election PA duty or what? Much before the coil burnt, the sound should have been intolerable (distortion by the speaker)! Normally one listens to *music* at normally acceptable volume. Very few individuals wish to destroy their hearing abilities by going loud enough to the coil-burning zone.

My very smart friend put loud on high and took the volume to somewhere above 50.
Hence the burnt coils.

Here are the details on the system :

Try and not go for the JBL608c
Yes the JBL 1004 Price is 14,990, 10k must be grey market prices which is best avoided.

Is there a link for the 947?

I am unable to edit my first post, could the mods update the Corolla with a 2009 Honda City base instead ?

I need the system for the City folks, sorry for the change.

I would not be able to use 6x9 speakers on the new City unless I were to cut up the rear. I would think that is best avoided?

I think the 1004 is the best bet, apart from the 5355 (I think that's the model number), from JBL as far as amps go.
