Pioneer 5050 Auxilliary input doesnt work

Hey guys,

I have a Pioneer 5050 and my auxiliary port doesn't seem to work. I have tried connecting my Sony PSP and also my Nokia N95 8GB to it with no success i.e. after connecting I cannot hear any sound from the speakers in spite of maxing out the volume levels on both ends i.e. the headunit and the player. Ther is absolutely no sound whatsoever.

My set up is

Alto Vxi
Pioneer 5050
Illusion Electra 6.1, 6.5" components
Ground Zero Titanium GZTA 4.120MK^2 4 chanel Amplifier
Ground Zero Titanium GZTW 12MK^2 Subwoofer
Ground Zero GZPK 10 8-guage Amplifier wiring Kit
Illusion RSC 16.5, 16 gauge tinned OFC speaker cable
Noisekill sheets in the front doors and the boot

My questions are:

1) As you see from the model number of the headunit (5050), it has been purchased from the grey market. Has anyone with the same head-unit experienced the same problem ? If yes, what has been the remedy ?

2) Is anyone with the same head-unit sucessfully using the auxilliary-in with their devices like mp3 players etc? If yes, what devices have you been connecting ?

Thanks in advance.

and just for the sake of information, my Alto is the one B&T sirji, gave his expert guidance to, in the episode featured on CNBC

1. What cable are you using to connect your device to Aux?
2. Which port are you using to connect your device?
3. Do you have aux in enabled in your HU?
4. Does the selected source show as aux while you try to play?

Looks like a case of loose connection of the aux cable or a cable gone bad. Why not try swapping the cable with a working one.
