Wasn't the install done at Evo?? I remember the guys working on the car and the place.

They do get dirty with the job at times when Satya's not around.

Yes, you guessed it right. Even though I did not mention it earlier, I realize that one of the pictures did have a clue in the form of their logo!

Actually, saw the clue only after you mentioned now.

How dumb! I forgot to say congrats. :-)

Well..Audition??

Thanks Shreyas. Audition- any convenient time, we can decide over PMs.

Hi,
Congrats on your install, I would like to hear to it too.

Santosh,
congrats on the install. Thanks a lot for the detailed updates. :)

McLBM?? Yeh naya naam kab aaya.? Did I miss something.

Congrats on your install. Which CDT components are these? CL/HD/ES?

Both components and sub are their entry level stuff I believe, CL-62 and EF-100 respectively. Regarding Kenwood amps, class-D mono is again entry level I suppose, but component amp is from a higher series (named Excelon). Idea was to take a very cautions leap into true hi-fi without blindly overspending. BTW, I think I did right thing by choosing 10" over 12". Because 10" itself goes pretty low and blends well (when dicky is closed and windows are rolled up, of course), which makes me think 12" would have been relatively boomy. After all, it was a recommendation by CDT itself.

Just that I saw somebody (probably DA aka DerAlte) renaming him like that:)

Congrats! Superb choice of equipment. That x20 kenny amp looks nifty. I suppose it does 180x2 at 4ohms. How much gain are you running on those comps?
And how much did it cost ?

Reg the XO setting, as everyone mentioned keep the amp setting to Flat / HPF off and make use complete use of the XO from HU. I am using the the HU xover for my front comps, rear coax and subs.

Yes, @14.4V though! @12V it is still rated at 120Wx2 (4ohm, 20-20KHz; 0.05%THD). I didn't intend to use all that power. I could be wrong, but I have a general impression that using highly rated amps at low level would be better than low rated amps at full throttle (unless they are one of those usually expensive high-end models which are very conservatively rated).

Both amp gains are set to lowest (5V sensitivity). Relative gain between comps and sub is adjusted through HU using 3-way mode, comps running 6dB lower than sub.

USD exchange rate was on higher side when purchases were made, in spite of that here is approximately what I paid in Rupees:
Components- 7.6K
Compo amp- 6K
Subwoofer- 5.6K
Mono amp- 5.6K
Head Unit- 7.1K
BT Kit- 3.5K (This could be much cheaper but I had to choose little expensive shipping option because it was ordered at the last minute)
Total for all components- 35.5K

Installation- All inclusive with wires, box etc., basically everything apart from above- 9.2K making total ICE cost=44.7K

More details on materials used- Scosche 4GA wires and fuses for both amps, 14GA speaker wire from amp-to-xover and xover-to-mids, 12GA for sub (brand unknown, but Satya said it is good), I wanted to use thin 18-20GA for xover-to-tweeters but 16 or 17GA wires from Scosche kit were used for this purpose, 2 Hitron RCAs (seems to be very well shielded), one 3.5mm stereo to RCA cable for BT kit, harness adaptor, 4 MDF rings, carpetted MDF plank for amps, carpetted and fiber-glassed subwoofer box, + other minor accessories.

To be honest, I wanted to use the likes of Finolex for power and MX for speaker wires, while getting rest of the job professionally done as it has been. But that was not possible (at least in Bangalore), for that I would have to DIY which was impossible given the extent of work involved and this being my first time with ICEing!

That is what I would do ultimately, but I am bit overcautious about blowing mids. Let me do battery disconnection test first:).

That's because he said "I'm loving it" somewhere. Name change application pending - LBM has not approved of it yet!:p

That's really a VFM setup.
Congrats.

Congrats Santosh. Installation looks good.

Settings on the HU will not get reset on removing the battery. I figured this out today. :thumbs up

Just saw your posting in the other thread and responded too!
