Then using your remote enter your code.

Press and hold the 1 then the 6 preset key (preset keys are the buttons on face of radio for storing you "favorite" radio stations). "C" should display.
Then using your remote, enter your code.

If nothing works out and changing the HU is the only option, then I dont see any harm in trying the stunt of freezing. If it works you save minimum of RS 4500, if not just consider unlucky and go for a new one.

The service manual for this HU is available online here for $12. This could be another option.

Hey good news. The HU is unlocked. Fixya.com rocks. Only thing was that i had to do it some 8 times to get it correct. First time, only the radio worked. Second time, even the radio stopped. None was working till the 8th time and finally i got it correct. My HU is now working fine. Thanks to all the fellow members for helping me out with this. Thus i saved a 4500 INR. Planning to get an amp with this hard saving. Thank you all once again.

Good news indeed. Who would want to buy a new HU when there is already one.

Keep a part of that saving for treating your friends who helped you out.
